FAQs: McLaren 394mm Front Rotors (Girodisc)
Why do I need to change the pad shape? To maintain optimal weight and heat capacity, the Girodisc rotors use a smaller 66mm swept area. The FMSI D1405 pad shape provides the correct fit and performance balance.
Can I reuse my OEM pads? No. The OEM pads are designed for the full annulus of the carbon-ceramic rotors and are too large for this conversion.
Are these rotors noisy? No. Anti-noise spring washers prevent rattle during normal driving while allowing full float under heat.
What are the main benefits over OEM carbon-ceramic rotors? Improved serviceability, enhanced thermal consistency, and a major cost reduction for replacement and maintenance.
Can the rotors be serviced? Yes. When the cast iron rings wear out, they can be replaced individually, allowing the aluminum hats and hardware to be reused.

CMS Performance
CMS Performance RF1 Racing Brake Fluid (500 ml)
from $36.00
CMS Performance RF1 DOT4 Racing Brake Fluid
Real Life 622º Boiling Point Without the Real High Price
RF1 Racing Brake Fluid from CMS Performance is a fully-synthetic DOT4 brake fluid formulated to provide extraordinary performance under the most demanding high-temperature racing and track-day conditions. With a dry boiling point of 622º F / 328º C, RF1 exceeds all DOT 3 & DOT 4 requirements and is compatible with all DOT 3, DOT 4, and DOT 5.1 fluids.
Note: RF1, like all DOT 4 brake fluids, is not compatible with DOT 5 silicone-based or any mineral-based brake fluids.
On the race track, there is perhaps no single safety system more important than your brakes. No single part of that system is more critical than brake fluid, given the extraordinarily high temperatures it operates under. At CMS Performance, we got tired of (and a little nervous) using "racing" brake fluid at the race track that didn't live up to its claimed performance when things got hot. We found more than a few brands whose product was all hype and not high performance.
No Hype. All Performance. No Kidding.
So we did something about it. CMS Performance RF1 is manufactured in partnership with Orthene, maker of the also-excellent Halo P1 racing brake fluid and a brake fluid supplier to many racing teams in Formula 1, WEC, and other professional series. RF1 was formulated to maintain consistent viscosity, lubricity, and compressibility at the extreme system temperatures and line pressures found in racing and track days.
The bottom line is this: you can spend a lot more on brake fluid, but it's hard to find higher-performance than RF1 Racing Brake Fluid.

A Word About Flushing Brake Fluid
All brake fluid degrades over time (not mileage), attracting water as it ages, which, at high brake temperatures, can lead to fluid boil and brake fade or failure. That's why the "wet" (aged) boiling point of any brake fluid is substantially lower than the "dry" (new) boiling point.
To maintain maximum braking performance, Competition Motorsport strongly suggests replacing your brake fluid before every track event, but at least every three months if you're consistently racing and/or driving at track days. It's cheap insurance against learning about brake fade the hard way!
