Installation Note
The OEM pads and some aftermarket brake pads require minor modification before installation to accommodate the Girodisc hardware and retain the factory parking brake. This involves lightly grinding the pad backing plate to match the arc of the pad material. Girodisc includes full instructions, and pads purchased directly from Girodisc are pre-modified for a plug-and-play fit.
Girodisc A2-008 Rear Rotor FAQs:
Do these fit directly on Evo 6–9 models? Yes. The Girodisc A2-008 rotors are designed specifically for these generations of the Mitsubishi Evolution and bolt directly to the OEM hub and calipers.
Why do the pads need modification? The Girodisc floating design uses additional hardware that slightly changes the clearance between the caliper and rotor. Grinding the backing plate ensures proper fit while keeping the parking brake fully functional.
How do these compare to OEM rotors? Girodisc rotors weigh less, run cooler, and can be rebuilt by replacing only the iron rings—offering long-term savings and improved braking performance.
Are these suitable for track use? Absolutely. The floating two-piece construction and advanced cooling design make them ideal for aggressive street driving and track events.
Upgrade your Evo’s rear braking system with Girodisc rotors for reduced weight, enhanced thermal control, and race-inspired precision built to handle your most demanding driving.

The GiroDisc replacement rotor system is a direct rotor disc replacement for the Giro Disc 2-piece hat and rotor and no modifications are necessary.
The rotor and hat mount together through a floating mount system which utilizes 8-10 high strength alloy steel drive pins manufactured by GiroDisc in the USA to our own specifications and are cadmium plated for corrosion resistance. The alloy drive pins transfer the load from the brake action while maintaining the axial and radial float between the disc rotor and hat. The pins are secured by grade 12 cap screws with hardened washers and mounted with anti-noise spring washers to allow for heat expansion while eliminating the rattle and noise associated with floating rotors.
The 2-piece GiroDisc design allows for rotor only replacement to minimize replacement costs and deliver outstanding performance and cooling.

Girodisc MP-0961 Rear Magic Pads
Fits the Following Vehicles:
Mitsubishi Evo 6/7/8/9 (1999-2007)
Subaru WRX STI (2004-17)
Girodisc "Magic Pads" are the solution to your squeaky, dusty, expensive factory replacement pads. They have lower dust than typical factory pads and much less than other performance pads. You won't be cleaning your wheels nearly as often!
Additionally, they have great initial bite, something most less-expensive pads lack. But the real reason people like Magic Pads so much is they are the "silver bullet" to brake noise problems. Magic Pads are a semi-metallic composition that is easy on rotors and on your wallet.
We recommend always replacing pads as a whole car set when switching compounds. All Magic Pads come with anti-noise shields pre-installed and included in the price.

CMS Performance
CMS Performance RF1 Racing Brake Fluid (500 ml)
from $36.00
CMS Performance RF1 DOT4 Racing Brake Fluid
Real Life 622º Boiling Point Without the Real High Price
RF1 Racing Brake Fluid from CMS Performance is a fully-synthetic DOT4 brake fluid formulated to provide extraordinary performance under the most demanding high-temperature racing and track-day conditions. With a dry boiling point of 622º F / 328º C, RF1 exceeds all DOT 3 & DOT 4 requirements and is compatible with all DOT 3, DOT 4, and DOT 5.1 fluids.
Note: RF1, like all DOT 4 brake fluids, is not compatible with DOT 5 silicone-based or any mineral-based brake fluids.
On the race track, there is perhaps no single safety system more important than your brakes. No single part of that system is more critical than brake fluid, given the extraordinarily high temperatures it operates under. At CMS Performance, we got tired of (and a little nervous) using "racing" brake fluid at the race track that didn't live up to its claimed performance when things got hot. We found more than a few brands whose product was all hype and not high performance.
No Hype. All Performance. No Kidding.
So we did something about it. CMS Performance RF1 is manufactured in partnership with Orthene, maker of the also-excellent Halo P1 racing brake fluid and a brake fluid supplier to many racing teams in Formula 1, WEC, and other professional series. RF1 was formulated to maintain consistent viscosity, lubricity, and compressibility at the extreme system temperatures and line pressures found in racing and track days.
The bottom line is this: you can spend a lot more on brake fluid, but it's hard to find higher-performance than RF1 Racing Brake Fluid.
CMS Performance RF1 Racing Brake Fluid Details:
Manufacturer: CMS Performance
Manufacturer part no.: CMSRF1
Typical dry boiling point: 622º F / 328º C
Typical wet boiling point: 399º F / 204º C
Exceeds DOT 3 & DOT 4 standards

A Word About Flushing Brake Fluid
All brake fluid degrades over time (not mileage), attracting water as it ages, which, at high brake temperatures, can lead to fluid boil and brake fade or failure. That's why the "wet" (aged) boiling point of any brake fluid is substantially lower than the "dry" (new) boiling point.
To maintain maximum braking performance, Competition Motorsport strongly suggests replacing your brake fluid before every track event, but at least every three months if you're consistently racing and/or driving at track days. It's cheap insurance against learning about brake fade the hard way!
