Competition Motorsport is an authorized dealer for Girodisc products and we are one of the largest stocking dealers in the country. We ship most Girodisc systems the same or next business day to ensure we meet your delivery deadline.
The Girodisc system for the McLaren 600LT, 720S, 650S or 570S is a direct replacement for the OEM carbon ceramic rotors. No modifications are necessary, the Girodisc rotors will bolt directly to your McLaren and work with the original calipers without issue.
We recommend Pagid 4346 racing brake pads for this Girodisc system, in either RSL29 (endurance) or RS14 (sprint) compound.
The central hat section of the disc is made from 6061-T6 aircraft specification aluminum. The disc is made from cast iron to the same specification and material as used by professional racing organizations. It is a curved vane design, developed in racing to act as a centrifugal pump to force cooling air through the disc.
The rotor and hat have a floating mount system, which utilizes 10 high strength alloy steel drive pins, manufactured by Girodisc to our own specifications and cadmium plated for a long lasting corrosion resistance. These pins take the load from braking actions while maintaining the axial and radial float between the hat and disc. In order to keep the rotors from making noise when cold, the pins are mounted with anti-noise spring washers on the rotor side which allow the rotor to grow with heat expansion but eliminate the rattle and noise associated with floating rotors. This float also allows the rotor to self center between the pads.
Once the Girodisc system is in place, simply replace the cast iron rotor when needed.
When used with Pagid pads and high-temperature racing brake fluid, you have an excellent, race-proven solution to the fragile, ultra-expensive carbon-ceramic rotors on your McLaren.

The Girodisc replacement rotor system is a direct rotor disc replacement for the Girodisc 2-piece hat and rotor and no modifications are necessary.
The rotor and hat mount together through a floating mount system which utilizes 8-10 high strength alloy steel drive pins manufactured by Girodisc in the USA to their own specifications and are cadmium plated for corrosion resistance. The alloy drive pins transfer the load from braking while maintaining axial and radial float between the disc rotor and hat. The pins are secured by Grade-12 cap screws with hardened washers and mounted with anti-noise spring washers to allow for heat expansion while eliminating the rattle and noise associated with floating rotors.
The 2-piece Girodisc design allows for rotor-ring only replacement to minimize replacement costs and deliver outstanding performance and cooling.

The Endurance compound is the longest-lasting pad on the market right now, currently dominating the paddock at Le Mans and most other endurance events. The Sprint compound sacrifices approximately 30% in longevity for an increase of about 30% in bite. Which compound is right for you depends on what you’re trying to get out of your 600LT or 720S. It's worth mentioning that the Sprint compound still lasts longer than most endurance compounds offered by other racing brake manufacturers.

CMS Performance
CMS Performance RF1 Racing Brake Fluid (500 ml)
from $36.00
CMS Performance RF1 DOT4 Racing Brake Fluid
Real Life 622º Boiling Point Without the Real High Price
RF1 Racing Brake Fluid from CMS Performance is a fully-synthetic DOT4 brake fluid formulated to provide extraordinary performance under the most demanding high-temperature racing and track-day conditions. With a dry boiling point of 622º F / 328º C, RF1 exceeds all DOT 3 & DOT 4 requirements and is compatible with all DOT 3, DOT 4, and DOT 5.1 fluids.
Note: RF1, like all DOT 4 brake fluids, is not compatible with DOT 5 silicone-based or any mineral-based brake fluids.
On the race track, there is perhaps no single safety system more important than your brakes. No single part of that system is more critical than brake fluid, given the extraordinarily high temperatures it operates under. At CMS Performance, we got tired of (and a little nervous) using "racing" brake fluid at the race track that didn't live up to its claimed performance when things got hot. We found more than a few brands whose product was all hype and not high performance.
No Hype. All Performance. No Kidding.
So we did something about it. CMS Performance RF1 is manufactured in partnership with Orthene, maker of the also-excellent Halo P1 racing brake fluid and a brake fluid supplier to many racing teams in Formula 1, WEC, and other professional series. RF1 was formulated to maintain consistent viscosity, lubricity, and compressibility at the extreme system temperatures and line pressures found in racing and track days.
The bottom line is this: you can spend a lot more on brake fluid, but it's hard to find higher-performance than RF1 Racing Brake Fluid.
CMS Performance RF1 Racing Brake Fluid Details:

A Word About Flushing Brake Fluid
All brake fluid degrades over time (not mileage), attracting water as it ages, which, at high brake temperatures, can lead to fluid boil and brake fade or failure. That's why the "wet" (aged) boiling point of any brake fluid is substantially lower than the "dry" (new) boiling point.
To maintain maximum braking performance, Competition Motorsport strongly suggests replacing your brake fluid before every track event, but at least every three months if you're consistently racing and/or driving at track days. It's cheap insurance against learning about brake fade the hard way!
