Girodisc
A2-032 Girodisc 2pc REAR Brake Rotors (350mm)
$1,350.00
The Girodisc system is an upgrade to a 350mm two-piece steel rotor and aluminum hat combination, a direct replacement for the OEM brake disc. The two-piece floating disc will bolt directly to the car and work with OEM calipers perfectly. By upgrading your brakes with these lightweight high-performance replacements -- as opposed to a big brake kit -- your factory brake bias is maintained as well as your ABS efficiency. Girodisc rotors are lighter than the OEM rotors, reducing rotational and unsprung weight for quicker acceleration and suspension response.
When used with Pagid or PFC performance brake pads and Competition Motorsport RF1 racing brake fluid (also available from Competition Motorsport), you have an amazing solution to overheating, cracking and warping rotors.
The central hat section of the disc is made from 6061-T6 aircraft specification aluminum. The disc is manufactured in the USA from cast iron, made to the same specification and with the same material used by professional racing organizations. The rotor's curved-vane design was developed in racing and acts as a centrifugal pump to force cooling air through the disc.
The rotor and hat mount together through a floating mount system which utilizes 8-10 high strength alloy steel drive pins manufactured by GiroDisc in the USA to our own specifications and are cadmium plated for corrosion resistance. The alloy drive pins transfer the load from braking while maintaining the axial and radial float between the disc rotor and hat. The pins are secured by Grade 12 cap screws with hardened washers and mounted with anti-noise spring washers to allow for heat expansion while eliminating the rattle and noise typically associated with floating rotors.
The two-piece Girodisc design allows for rotor-ring only replacement to minimize future replacement costs.

Pagid Racing Brake Pads No. 8074
RSL 29:
The PAGID RS29 (Yellow) is the world-leading endurance brake pad used by most of the winning teams in motorsport. The racing compound combines the outstanding wear rate of the RS19 with a slightly higher coefficient of friction and initial bite. Based on the RS14, A slight reduction of the friction value improves the modulation (controllability). Nevertheless, the friction value is enough for cars without power-assisted brake system and ensures comfortable low effort on the brake pedal. Constant temperatures up to 600°C (1,100°F) are possible. This combination of friction value, fading stability and low wear rates on pads and discs (rotors) is unmatched. Due to its excellent release characteristics and controllability PAGID endurance materials are also often used for sprint races.
Pagid RS29 with a very similar friction coefficient to RS19 with improvements in initial bite offering quicker response and slightly more temperature stable at the upper levels of the temperature range. Developments in raw material selection and compounding have resulted in improvements also in pedal feel and feedback, helping with modulation particularly on lighter applications.
This material provides very good levels of performance and response at all temperature levels, only slight temperature inputs are required to bring the pad up to its optimum performance level. Another favourite with endurance racers having won many classes at all major endurance events, such as Le-Mans, Daytona, Spa, Nurburgring, etc. Due to the exceptional pad life and very low wear on brake discs it has been possible to run 24 hours without a change of pads or discs. Able to withstand slightly higher disc temperatures than RS19, this has proved more suitable for applications running very high disc temperatures.
Although designed primarily for endurance racing, because of the consistent levels of performance and user friendliness many competitors use this material successfully for sprint and short distance races also. RS29 has also found favour in the growing track day market due to the level of control, good cold performance, long life and low disc wear.

Ferodo Compound DS3.12
The DS3.12 is the latest evolution in Ferodo's incredible DS line. Sports cars today have more of everything: more horsepower, more sophisticated aero, higher curb weights, and stickier tires. These attributes place serious demands on a vehicle's brake system. The Ferodo DS3.12 is the modern pad compound designed from the start to explicitly handle those demands.
Ferodo Compound DS1.11
The DS1.11 has a lower mu than the DS3.12 at all temperatures and can be characterized as a moderate mu pad vs. other endurance racing compounds. They require more pedal force than the DS3.12, and they have a slightly declining torque curve as temperatures rise. As they get hotter and you dive deeper into a turn, you may feel like you need to push a little harder on the brake pedal to elicit the same response (which is a feel many drivers actually prefer). Some drivers feel that the DS1.11 is more controllable on street tires than DS3.12 since ABS cannot be activated as easily. It will last a fairly long time vs. many other pad compounds on the market but does not last quite as long as the DS3.12. They are very gentle on discs at track temperatures when a proper pad transfer layer is maintained. The DS1.11 also has an outstanding max temp and fade resistance, just not quite as high as 3.12. We're not aware of anyone who has faded them, and most people differentiate between the DS1.11 and DS3.12 based on feel.
Ferodo Compound DS2500
Although we always recommend using a dedicated race pad for the track, the DS2500 is one of the best hybrid street/track pads on the market. It features the moderately high bite and solid fade resistance of a track pad, with the relatively low dust and noise levels of a street pad. When used as a street pad, it can produce some squeal on certain vehicle platforms. If you drive aggressively on the street, do some canyon runs, autocross, and maybe some light track duty on street tires, the DS2500 is tough to beat.
Ferodo 11 FCP4713 Comparison Chart
Out of all the pad compounds we've ever tested, from all manufacturers, the Ferodo DS3.12 shows the flattest torque curve across the broadest temperature range. That means on every turn, on every track you drive, on every lap, your brake pedal is going to feel almost exactly the same, providing tremendous consistency and repeatability. The DS3.12 has a higher mu (µ) than Ferodo's other compounds, so not as much pedal pressure is required to initiate the desired response. It is also un-fadable, showing no drop in performance at any temperature your brakes will ever see.
Ferodo 11 FCP4713 Coefficient of Friction (Mu) Comparison Chart
In dyno testing, the Ferodo DS3.12 has shown superior wear rates to the other Ferodo compounds, while remaining kind to brake rotors. We believe the Ferodo DS3.12 will become the gold standard by which other race compounds will be judged.

FITMENTS: Porsche 991, 992, GT4 (Front)
The problem of brake fluid boiling is caused by braking heat transferring from the rotors and pads directly into the fluid through the caliper pistons. When brake fluid boils, it releases air that is normally part of the molecular structure of the fluid. This air is compressible, of course, so brake pedal pressure compresses this air instead of pushing brake fluid and moving the caliper pistons. The brake pedal goes to the floor.
Production street cars tend to suffer from this on track days because they don't have the extensive cooling ducts and exotic brake materials found on race cars. Race-only brake calipers generally come with titanium caliper pistons for one reason: titanium has very low thermal conductivity, which means it's bad at transferring heat.
That's good if you're trying to keep your brake fluid from boiling. Here's a comparison of materials and their relative thermal conductivity ratings in Watts per meter-Kelvin (lower is better):
Titanium 6AL-4V = 6.7 W/mK
Steel = 52 W/mK
Aluminum = 130 W/mK
Most fixed calipers use aluminum pistons which are, unfortunately, excellent at transferring braking heat to your brake fluid. Our solution is to place Girodisc's thin titanium shims between each brake pad and the caliper pistons. This helps prevent braking heat from transferring into the pistons and, thus, into the fluid.
For cars that are going to see hard driving or multiple track days, these shims are affordable protection against losing your brake pedal at the worst possible time, making your track day very expensive.
Water-jet cut to exact size, so there's no cutting, grinding, or swearing involved.
Price is per axle (four shims)

On the race track, there is perhaps no single safety system more important than your brakes. No single part of that system is more critical than brake fluid, given the extraordinarily high temperatures it operates under. At CMS Performance, we got tired of (and a little nervous) using "racing" brake fluid at the race track that didn't live up to its claimed performance when things got hot. We found more than a few brands whose product was all hype and not high performance.
No Hype. All Performance. No Kidding.
So we did something about it. CMS Performance RF1 is manufactured in partnership with Orthene, maker of the also-excellent Halo P1 racing brake fluid and a brake fluid supplier to many racing teams in Formula 1, WEC, and other professional series. RF1 was formulated to maintain consistent viscosity, lubricity, and compressibility at the extreme system temperatures and line pressures found in racing and track days.
The bottom line is this: you can spend a lot more on brake fluid, but it's hard to find higher-performance than RF1 Racing Brake Fluid.

A Word About Flushing Brake Fluid
All brake fluid degrades over time (not mileage), attracting water as it ages, which, at high brake temperatures, can lead to fluid boil and brake fade or failure. That's why the "wet" (aged) boiling point of any brake fluid is substantially lower than the "dry" (new) boiling point.
To maintain maximum braking performance, Competition Motorsport strongly suggests replacing your brake fluid before every track event, but at least every three months if you're consistently racing and/or driving at track days. It's cheap insurance against learning about brake fade the hard way!

Very Effective in Rainy Conditions
The high wet boiling point (420°F / 216° C) of Motul RBF 600 is superior to conventional brake fluids, providing particularly efficient braking in rain while reducing the risk of vapor lock.
Note: do not mix DOT 4 brake fluid like Motul RBF 600 with DOT 5 silicone-based or conventional mineral-based brake fluids.
