The Highest Dry Boiling Point Racing Brake Fluid You Can Buy CMS Performance RF1 fully synthetic Racing Brake Fluid is formulated to provide the highest performance under racing and track-day conditions, where braking systems operate at very high sustained temperatures. RF1 exceeds all DOT 3 & 4 requirements and is compatible with all DOT 3, 4, and 5.1 fluids. (Not compatible with DOT5 or mineral-based brake fluids.) There is perhaps no single safety system more important in racing than brakes. And no part of that system is more critical than brake fluid. At Competition Motorsport, we got tired of (and a little nervous) using "racing" brake fluid on the track that didn't live up to its claimed performance. So we did something about it. Manufactured in partnership with Orthene Chemicals, a British brake fluid supplier to professional race teams in Formula 1, WEC, and many other pro series, CMS Performance RF1 Racing Brake Fluid is formulated to maintain consistent viscosity, lubricity, and compressibility at extreme temperatures and line pressures found in racing, track days, and spirited driving. Bottom line: you can spend more money, but you can't buy higher-performing racing brake fluid! CMS Performance RF1 Racing Brake Fluid Specifications: Typical dry boiling point: 622° F (328° C) Typical wet boiling point: 399° F (204° C) Exceeds DOT3 & DOT4 standards Individual 500 ml (16.7 oz.) bottles Click Here For The RF1 Product MSDS Sheet A Note About Brake Fluid Boiling Points DOT 4 brake fluid like RF1 is hygroscopic, meaning it attracts water over time sitting in your brake lines and reservoir. At high brake temperatures, this water can boil in your car's brake lines, causing the fluid in the lines to become compressible. That's what you feel when you experience brake fade. This is why the "wet" (aged fluid) boiling point of any brake fluid is substantially lower than the "dry" (brand new fluid) boiling point. Since time is the enemy of brake fluid performance, the best practice is to replace your racing brake fluid before each track event/weekend. At a minimum, flush it with new fluid at least every three months if you're consistently racing and/or driving at track days. A couple bottles of fluid will flush most sports cars or race cars. It ends up being pretty cheap insurance against learning about brake fade the hard way.

RSL 1: RSL 1 is a low metallic resin bonded material containing steel and aramid fibers with high heat resistance. It maintains a constant friction level over a wide range of temperatures. Its low wear rate and disc friendliness make this material appropriate for endurance races. Applications include GT cars, Touring cars and prototype endurance racing. Due to the high friction and good modulation, often used in sprint races as well. RSL 2: RSL 2 is based on the RSL 1 compound but has been further improved in terms of pad and disc life as well as friction stability vs. temperature. It is a low metallic resin bonded material containing steel and aramid fibers. Furthermore, it maintains a constant friction level over a wide range of temperatures. Applications include GT cars, Touring cars and prototype endurance racing. Due to excellent modulation characteristics often also used in sprint races. RSL 29: The PAGID RS29 (Yellow) is the world-leading endurance brake pad used by most of the winning teams in motorsport.  The racing compound combines the outstanding wear rate of the RS19 with a slightly higher coefficient of friction and initial bite. Based on the RS14, A slight reduction of the friction value improves the modulation (controllability). Nevertheless, the friction value is enough for cars without power-assisted brake system and ensures comfortable low effort on the brake pedal. Constant temperatures up to 600°C (1,100°F) are possible. This combination of friction value, fading stability and low wear rates on pads and discs (rotors) is unmatched. Due to its excellent release characteristics and controllability PAGID endurance materials are also often used for sprint races. Pagid RS29 with a very similar friction coefficient to RS19 with improvements in initial bite offering quicker response and slightly more temperature stable at the upper levels of the temperature range. Developments in raw material selection and compounding have resulted in improvements also in pedal feel and feedback, helping with modulation particularly on lighter applications. This material provides very good levels of performance and response at all temperature levels, only slight temperature inputs are required to bring the pad up to its optimum performance level. Another favourite with endurance racers having won many classes at all major endurance events, such as Le-Mans, Daytona, Spa, Nurburgring, etc. Due to the exceptional pad life and very low wear on brake discs it has been possible to run 24 hours without a change of pads or discs. Able to withstand slightly higher disc temperatures than RS19, this has proved more suitable for applications running very high disc temperatures. Although designed primarily for endurance racing, because of the consistent levels of performance and user friendliness many competitors use this material successfully for sprint and short distance races also. RS29 has also found favour in the growing track day market due to the level of control, good cold performance, long life and low disc wear. RST 1: RST 1 has a very high friction level and high temperature resistance. It is a semi metallic resin bonded material containing steel fibers. Cold friction and initial bite makes this material most appropriate for Rally and NASCAR applications. Applications include Rally tarmac, GT cars and Touring cars circuit racing (sprint), high down-force formula cars, NASCAR. Suitable for applications in heavy cars and where high torque is necessary against small diameter rotors. RST 2: RST 2 is a semi metallic resin bonded material containing steel fibers. Cold friction and initial bite makes this material most appropriate for Rally and NASCAR applications. Applications include Rally tarmac, GT cars and Touring cars circuit racing and NASCAR. Also used as rear pad in combination with RST 1 front. Recommended for GT and Touring Car racing on tracks where higher temperatures are an issue. RST 3: RST 3 is a medium-high friction metal-ceramic compound containing steel fibers and is therefore the perfect complement of the RST product family. It captivates by its low heat conductivity. Applications include Rally tarmac and gravel, GT cars, Touring cars and prototype circuit racing, formula cars and club racing. RST 3 suits a wide range of applications due to it‘s combination of bite, friction and controllability. RST 4: RST 4 is a semi metallic resin bonded material containing steel fibers. This material has a medium friction level and high temperature resistance. Applications include formula cars and open wheel racing. Rear axle material for Rally (tarmac and gravel) and for all front engine cars. Also used in NASCAR on long ovals.

RS29 has also found favour in the growing track day market due to the level of control, good cold performance, long life and low disc wear. RS 44: A Carbon based friction material developed from RS4-2 but with a progressively increasing friction curve, giving it lower friction than RS4-2 below 300°c and higher friction above 300°c. It offers slightly less initial bite and low temperature response than RS4-2, but with the same high levels of controllability. The wear rate of RS4-4 is very similar to RS4- 2, but is slightly better in terms of wear at higher temperatures. Disc wear as with all other PAGID materials is exceptional and thermal stressing and tension cracks of the disc surface are greatly reduced. RS4-4 also has extended operating temperature limits, increasing fade resistance, and allowing braking deeper into the corner without wheel lock and fading issues. This compound is available in fewer pad shapes than RS4-2, and is particularly popular in Porsche club racing, and has been fitted as an OEM on such high performance road vehicles as Porsche 993 RS and GT2 for example. In road applications this compound exhibits low brake noise. A very versatile pad for use on both front and rear axle’s, is also a very good rear pad in conjunction with RS14 / RS15 on front axles of front wheel drive touring cars, etc.
