This certification provides an unparalleled level of puncture protection as well as impact resistance.
ABP is an acronym for "Advanced Ballistic Protection". The ABP replaces the zylon panel required by FIA in the previous generation (FIA 8860-2010) helmets, integrating stronger protection into the front of the helmet shell. A brand new testing procedure was introduced to evaluate this area, based on military ballistic specifications with a projectile shot at 250 km/h. The Stilo ST5 FN ABP was the first helmet to be certified to this new standard, offering a higher safety degree while maintaining dimensions and weight.
The Stilo ST5 FN ABP 8860-2018 is among the lightest carbon fiber racing helmets on the market. While it lacks the side ports of the Stilo ST5 GT 8860-2018 Carbon Fiber Helmet, it can still be outfitted with electronics, top forced air and a helmet eject system. The most effective helmet is one that fits properly. To measure your head, have an assistant use a dressmaker's tape or a piece of string to measure the circumference of your head. Start at a point about an inch above your eyebrows, looping around the back of your head at the point that results in the largest measurement, and finally then around to the front again. It's a good idea to take two or three measurements to make sure you have the largest one.

This unique cooling system feeds air from your car’s fresh air system to both the top of your head and to the front of your face, while at the same time helping keep the inside of your visor clear. This system integrates into the existing design of the ST5 helmet and does not require any drilling of the shell or modifications to the internal EPS foam.
There are four small ventilation holes molded into the top of every ST5 helmet. Stilo's Top Air system fits over the forward two holes and extends down the front of the helmet and just under the top of the visor. Air fed into the Top Air is directed both to the top of the head and down over the face. A small deflector just inside the visor area directs air towards the visor and away from the eyes. Old air flows out of the rear holes on the top of the helmet and from the bottom of the helmet, significantly reducing CO2 buildup in the helmet.

The ST5 Kart is manufactured in a lightweight and very strong composite material and is currently available in white. As with every Stilo helmet, the focus is on safety, comfort and function. The ST5 Kart helmet’s interior has an excellent fit and comfort level due to its dual density interior foam lining. From the first use, karters will truly appreciate the level of comfort it offers.
The ST5 Kart's symmetrical visor offers excellent vision and an effortless central visor locking system that karters will appreciate. The centrally located locking system has dual opening positions allowing adjustment for the visor to be slightly open for extra airflow as preferred by some karters in damp conditions or left completely sealed, but more importantly in both of these positions the visor is locked and will never fly open.
The Stilo ST5 Kart Helmet arrives with a 3mm thick FIA F1 standard visor - adding a dramatic improvement in safety.
