Brembo 2-Piece Rotor FAQs
How long do Brembo discs last?
The usable life of a brake disc is influenced by a number of factors including vehicle weight, driving style, vehicle usage, brake pad material, and many others. Therefore a blanket disc lifetime cannot be given. However, when used in the same conditions, a Brembo disc should meet or exceed the life of the disc it replaces. It is important to periodically check the disc thickness, and replace the disc if it falls below the minimum allowed thickness.
How does reducing weight of the braking system benefit the vehicle?
The mass of any vehicle requires energy to accelerate or decelerate. Reducing vehicle mass improves acceleration and requires less energy to be dissipated during deceleration. Rotating mass requires additional energy in order to increase or decrease its speed of rotation. Therefore, decreasing the mass of the caliper is valuable due to its contribution to total vehicle mass. Decreasing the mass of the disc has an even greater benefit due to the fact that the disc must rotate as well. Additionally, the mass of the brake system is also unsprung mass. Reducing the unsprung mass has the additional benefit of improved suspension performance, resulting in enhanced ride and handling.
Should new discs and pads be bedded in?
The bedding procedure is an important step when installing new rotors and pads. Correctly bedded pads form a transfer layer of material on the surface of the disc which improves overall "bite" and performance. Without proper "pre-bedding" that simulates the correct heat and torque loads seen in actual driving conditions, a pad's true potential cannot be realized. This process will also ensure that the pads will produce a rotor finish with a consistent transfer layer which prevents "judder" from occurring. The Brembo Bedding Memo should be followed when installing a new Brembo system or new discs and / or street pads. For race friction and / or track use, please contact us for detailed information regarding the appropriate bedding procedure to follow.
Some of the bushings in the two-piece disc assembly seem to be loose.
The two-piece disc assemblies utilize a floating disc. The mounting system of the disc is designed to allow a specific amount of float in both the radial and axial directions. Brembo has engineered special springs that are used on every other fastener in order to slightly preload the assembly. This has been done to prevent excessive noise from the system during street use, while still maintaining the benefits of a floating disc. These springs can be seen when looking at the backside of the disc. The small screws on the backside of the disc are properly torqued during assembly and utilize thread lock compound to prevent loosening. They must not be tightened further.
What is the difference between the systems Brembo offers?
Brembo offers different levels for different applications, and for different budgets. There are currently three performance levels within the Brembo program. The first level is the Sport system. These kits include cross-drilled or slotted discs and high performance brake pads, and are direct replacements for the OEM components. The second level, the Gran Turismo system, upgrades the entire corner brake assembly. These kits combine fixed mount, 4, 6, or 8-piston aluminum calipers equipped with high performance brake pads, one or two piece directionally vented discs, and steel-braided brake lines. For those seeking a system for exclusive or nearly exclusive track use, the Race systems offer upgrades consisting of true racing components.
Why are there so many holes in a cross-drilled disc?
The number of holes in a cross-drilled disc is part of the engineered system. Brembo has done extensive testing with regards to the number of holes, their size, their location and their chamfering. This attention to detail is what truly sets Brembo apart in the world of braking. The same attention to detail that is delivered to the Ferrari Formula One effort is a component of the high performance program. The number of holes in a disc is in part a function of the size of the disc and the internal venting (if it is a vented disc).
Why use a two-piece "floating" disc assembly?
There are several reasons that a two-piece floating disc assembly is of benefit. First, by using an aluminum bell for the hub section of the disc saves a great deal of weight. Since this is both rotating and unsprung, it benefits the acceleration, braking, and handling of the vehicle. Secondly, it is better able to handle the large temperature changes that a brake disc experiences. In a two-piece floating disc assembly, the iron disc heats up uniformly, and the controlled float which is present allows for the differential expansion of the very hot brake disc, and the relatively cool aluminum bell. This allows the disc to be used under severe conditions without having a detrimental effect.
Will a Brembo brake system work with my standard master cylinder, ABS, or traction control?
Brembo brake systems are designed to work with your standard master cylinder, and do not hamper the function of your ABS or traction control system.
Will I experience brake noise with Brembo brakes?
Brembo makes every effort to test for and eliminate abnormal brake noise from the systems we offer. There are many factors that can contribute to abnormal brake noises, and while it is unlikely that a Brembo system will create noise, the engineering and customer service departments are available to answer questions and work to solve any noise issues which may arise. Please contact us if you have additional questions or concerns.
How do I properly bed my new Brembo brake rotors?
It is important to follow the proper brake bedding procedure following installation. This is necessary not only for optimum performance of the system, but also to avoid onset of judder (vibration felt through brake and steering). The discs are delivered with a thin zinc coating to prevent corrosion. Prior to beginning the bedding procedure, this plating must be removed from the braking surfaces by driving the car slowly (under 30mph) and performing very light brake applications in order to remove the plating without generating heat. With too much heat or pedal pressure, this plating can be deposited unevenly on the disc, and impregnated into the pad, further increasing the likelihood of judder development. Once a visual inspection of the braking surfaces confirms that the plating has been evenly removed, begin with the bedding procedure as specified below.
Drive vehicle to a remote area and perform at least 30 brake applications of 3 second duration. Use light/medium deceleration with varying starting speeds. Leave at least ½ mile between each brake application
The purpose of this procedure is to gradually increase the temperature in the components without thermal shock, and to mate the brake pad and disc friction surfaces
After the repeated stops, drive the vehicle for several miles with little or no braking in order to adequately cool the components
The system is now ready for normal use
This entire procedure must be complete before driving the vehicle as normal. It is especially important that this process is completed before any extended same-speed driving is done (i.e. freeway travel). Failure to follow these instructions greatly increases the likelihood of judder development

C3 Carbon Ferrari 488 GTB Carbon Fiber Rear Diffuser
Replace the heavy, fragile fiberglass diffuser on the rear on your Ferrari 488 with a strong, lightweight, beautifully crafted carbon fiber rear diffuser from C3.
The 488's heavy, drab-black factory diffuser belies the car's Formula 1 roots, adding unnecessary weight aft of the rear axles. Naturally, Ferrari offers a carbon fiber replacement -- for over $10,000! C3 Carbon uses an autoclave to create our pre-impregnated (pre-preg) dry carbon fiber 488 diffuser for uncompromising quality, fitment, and finish. All at a fraction of the cost of the Ferrari piece. C3 have perfectly matched the OEM Ferrari 1x1 3K plain carbon fiber weave to make a stunning diffuser that is functional, beautiful, and durable.
A common complaint among 488 drivers is the factory diffuser being easily and irreparably damaged during everyday driving. Not only is the C3 Carbon rear diffuser more robust in this regard, but the fins are individually replaceable should one be scuffed or damaged. Not so with the Ferrari piece.
FITS: 2016+ Ferrari 488 GTB

Autoclaved pre-preg dry carbon fiber in a 1x1 3K plain weave identical to factory Ferrari carbon fiber
Weighs 67% less than the original fiberglass Ferrari piece
Clear-coated with automotive urethane, hand polished to a mirror finish
OEM-perfect fit with ground clearance equal to the original factory diffuser
Installs easily in minutes with no modification to your 488
Digitally 3D laser scanned for guaranteed fitment
Autoclave formed in billet aluminum molds at more than 100 psi and 200 degrees Fahrenheit
Experience the Difference of C3 Carbon Products
Competition Carbon Components (C3 Carbon) has been steadily gaining in popularity amongst today’s high-performance driving enthusiasts due to several key factors that help C3 Carbon stand out in a market full of sub-par aftermarket offerings. Each C3 Carbon product is manufactured to provide perfect fit and extreme strength while reducing weight, maximizing quality and ensuring years of exceptional finish. We provide all of this for significantly less money than OEM parts.
Every product we make uses pre-impregnated dry carbon formed in a CNC-machined billet aluminum mold which is manufactured by laser-scanning the OEM component(s) so you know you’ll have a perfect fit, every time. Dry carbon is stronger and lighter than wet carbon, often weighing 1/3 of our competitors’ products. Our manufacturing methods also produce a smoother surface on each part for more dimensional accuracy; shaving edges, widening mounting holes and flexing pieces to make them fit are a thing of the past.
C3 Carbon also applies an automotive urethane clear-coat which is U/V cured for durability and guarantees C3 Carbon parts won't yellow over time.
Many of our competitors use wet carbon (which is heavier), and some use fiberglass with a carbon overlay (much heavier, as the carbon fiber has epoxy literally painted onto it). These materials and manufacturing methods produce a poor finish due to air contamination, and because the epoxy isn’t applied uniformly throughout the weave. These products are also much weaker than C3 Carbon products. Finally, most competitors use a fiberglass mold, which is far less expensive but cannot maintain the strict tolerances we demand of our own products. In the end, the fit and finish simply cannot stand up to C3 Carbon products.

Stilo S.r.l.
Stilo Venti WRX Raid Carbon | FIA 8859-2015 & SA2020
$2,823.00
Stilo Venti WRX Raid Carbon Racing Helmet
The Stilo Venti WRX Raid Carbon Racing Helmet is purpose-built for off-road, rally raid, Baja, side-by-side and extreme dirt competition. Developed as a hybrid between Stilo's championship-proven Venti WRC open-face platform and ST5 full-face helmet architecture, the Venti WRX Raid combines a massive eye opening, protective full-face shell and goggle-compatible design for racers operating in dust, heat and demanding terrain.
Constructed from carbon fiber using Stilo's PURO technology, the Venti WRX Raid Carbon delivers lightweight performance with Snell SA2020 and FIA 8859-2015 certification. A short carbon peak, 34% increased field of view and communication-ready interior make it a serious helmet for drivers and co-drivers who need maximum awareness in extreme environments.
Built for Rally Raid, Baja and Off-Road Racing
The Venti WRX Raid was designed specifically for racing environments where dust, debris, visibility and communication can become just as important as outright speed. Its unique architecture blends the protection of a full-face helmet with the expansive opening and visibility associated with Stilo's rally helmets.
Whether used in a side-by-side, open off-road vehicle, desert racer or rally raid car, the WRX Raid is engineered around the demands of rough terrain and extended competition.
34% Increased Field of View
One of the defining features of the Stilo Venti WRX platform is its dramatically enlarged eye opening. Stilo rates the design as providing a 34% increase in field of view, giving drivers improved peripheral vision and a clearer view of terrain, obstacles, cockpit equipment and co-drivers.
The increased opening is especially useful in off-road competition, where terrain can change rapidly and maintaining awareness of hazards is critical.
Designed for Off-Road Goggles
The Raid configuration is specifically designed to accommodate a variety of off-road racing goggles. Instead of a conventional full-face visor, the helmet uses a large open eyeport paired with a short peak.
This setup allows racers to select goggles appropriate for dusty, muddy or changing weather conditions while retaining the protection of the surrounding carbon fiber helmet shell.
Carbon Fiber Shell With Stilo PURO Technology
The Venti WRX Raid Carbon uses Stilo's PURO carbon fiber manufacturing technology. The process minimizes unnecessary finishing materials and coatings to help reduce mass while maintaining the strength and premium finish required for motorsport use.
The result is a lightweight carbon helmet designed to help reduce driver fatigue during long stages, endurance events and demanding off-road competition.
Snell SA2020 and FIA 8859-2015 Certified
The Venti WRX Raid Carbon carries both Snell SA2020 certification and FIA 8859-2015 homologation, giving racers a helmet built to recognized international motorsport safety standards.
It is also compatible with approved head and neck restraint systems for additional protection in competitive motorsport applications.
Short Carbon Peak for Off-Road Visibility
The Raid version includes a short peak designed to help manage glare and overhead light while maintaining the helmet's exceptionally large field of view. Its compact design also provides clearance for compatible off-road goggles.
Additional WRX peaks and accessories can be used to further configure the helmet for specific racing environments.
Communication System Ready
The Venti WRX Raid Carbon is designed to accommodate motorsport communication equipment and includes speaker provisions within the interior. Compatible Stilo communication components can be added separately depending on the driver's vehicle intercom and communication requirements.
This makes the helmet well suited to rally raid and endurance environments where reliable communication between driver, co-driver and crew is essential.

$5,645.00
Stilo ST5 FN 8860-2018 ABP Carbon Fiber Racing Helmet
FIA 8860 Certification valid thru 2033 for these ST5 FN 8860 ABP Helmet
The Stilo ST5 FN 8860-2018 ABP Carbon Fiber Racing Helmet is engineered for professional drivers who demand one of the highest levels of helmet protection available in motorsports. Designed around the stringent FIA 8860-2018 ABP standard, the ST5 FN ABP combines an extremely lightweight carbon-fiber shell with Advanced Ballistic Protection developed for top-level open-wheel, prototype, endurance, and professional racing.
The FN designation stands for Stilo's Formula Naked configuration. Unlike the ST5 GT, the FN eliminates the external integrated side ports to reduce weight and create an exceptionally clean aerodynamic profile. The helmet can still be configured for communications, forced air, hydration, and helmet eject systems through Stilo's purpose-built accessory system.
For drivers competing at the highest levels of motorsport—or racers who simply refuse to compromise on protection—the ST5 FN 8860-2018 ABP delivers exceptional safety, low weight, comfort, and professional-grade functionality.
FIA 8860-2018 ABP Advanced Ballistic Protection
ABP stands for Advanced Ballistic Protection. FIA developed the ABP specification to provide increased protection to the frontal area of the helmet, particularly around the forehead and visor opening.
The ABP design incorporates additional protection directly into the helmet structure instead of relying on the separate Zylon visor panel used with previous-generation FIA 8860-2010 Formula 1 helmets.
The FIA 8860-2018 ABP testing procedure includes demanding impact and projectile testing intended for motorsports where drivers may be exposed to debris and other high-energy impacts. The result is an exceptionally protective helmet designed for the highest levels of professional competition.
Lightweight Carbon Fiber Construction
The Stilo ST5 FN 8860-2018 ABP is constructed from 100% medium-tensile carbon fiber, providing an outstanding combination of strength, rigidity, impact performance, and low weight.
Reducing helmet weight is especially important in open-wheel and high-downforce race cars, where sustained lateral G-forces can place significant loads on the driver's head and neck. The lightweight construction of the ST5 FN helps reduce fatigue during long sessions without sacrificing the protection required by the FIA 8860-2018 ABP standard.
Designed for Open-Cockpit and Professional Racing
The ST5 FN ABP is particularly well suited for open-wheel and open-cockpit racing where the driver's helmet is more exposed to airflow, debris, and other environmental factors.
The ABP configuration uses a reduced-height eyeport and specialized visor to increase protection around the forehead area. Combined with the aerodynamic ST5 shell, the helmet provides a compact and streamlined profile for high-speed racing.
Formula Naked FN Design
The FN or Formula Naked configuration removes the external side accessory ports found on the Stilo ST5 GT. Eliminating these ports reduces weight and creates a smooth exterior shell ideally suited to Formula, prototype, and open-wheel applications.
Despite the clean exterior, the ST5 FN remains compatible with a wide range of Stilo accessories and can be configured for driver communications, hydration, top forced air, and helmet eject systems.
Integrated Accessory Capability
The ST5 FN was designed so important racing accessories can be added without creating unnecessary cables, hoses, or components hanging around the driver's helmet.
Compatible with Stilo FN communication systems
Compatible with Stilo top forced-air systems
Compatible with helmet eject systems
Compatible with hydration systems
Available aero accessories for open-cockpit applications
Compatible with Stilo ABP-specific visors
Communications, forced-air components, hydration equipment, and other optional accessories are sold separately unless specifically included with the selected configuration.
Factory-Installed HANS Posts
The Stilo ST5 FN 8860-2018 ABP comes with factory-installed HANS posts, making it ready for use with compatible head-and-neck restraint systems.
Factory installation provides a clean, properly positioned attachment solution without requiring the racer to install restraint anchors separately.
ST5 ABP Visor System
The ABP helmet uses a specialized reduced-height eyeport and visor designed specifically around the Advanced Ballistic Protection requirements.
Stilo's center visor locking system allows the shield to be opened and closed easily, even while wearing racing gloves. Tear-off posts allow the helmet to be configured for racing environments where debris and contamination can quickly affect visibility.
Important: Because of the different eyeport design, always verify that replacement shields and accessories are specifically compatible with the ST5 ABP helmet.
Improved Interior Comfort
Stilo redesigned the ST5 interior with more contoured cheek pads and padding designed to improve comfort and helmet stability.
Removable earmuff cushions help isolate the driver's ears from surrounding noise, creating a quieter environment and providing dedicated space for compatible communications equipment.
Eight-Point Top Ventilation
Eight ventilation openings across the top of the helmet help manage airflow and can also be used with the optional Stilo ST5 Top Air System.
A forced-air system can be especially valuable in endurance racing, enclosed cockpits, and hot-weather competition where maintaining driver comfort and concentration becomes increasingly important.

The Girodisc A2-285 Rear Iron Rotor Conversion is designed as a direct replacement upgrade for the Ferrari 488 Challenge Evo, delivering exceptional braking performance and improved longevity over the OEM carbon ceramic setup. This precision-engineered 2-piece iron rotor system provides the durability, heat tolerance, and serviceability demanded by professional teams and track-day enthusiasts alike.
High-Performance Engineering
Each rotor assembly combines a lightweight 6061-T6 aluminum hat with a high-carbon cast iron ring developed exclusively by Girodisc. This configuration maintains the original brake balance while drastically reducing consumable costs associated with replacing factory carbon rotors. The result is a reliable, high-performing rotor that performs consistently under extreme racing temperatures.
Advanced Cooling and Floating Design
The 48 curved directional vanes inside the rotor act as a centrifugal pump, drawing air through the hub to maximize cooling efficiency and prevent heat-related distortion. Girodisc’s signature floating mount system uses cadmium-plated steel drive pins, secured by class 12.9 cap screws and Belleville washers. This allows the iron ring to expand freely with temperature changes while eliminating rattle and noise.
