A1-145 Girodisc 2pc Front Brake Rotors (C7 Corvette Z06 w-Z07 CCM)

The A1-145 Girodisc system is a two-piece steel rotor and aluminum hat combination that directly replaces the fragile and expensive front ceramic brake discs on the C7 Z07. A different brake pad with an annulus -- pad swept area -- of 66mm or less must be used. This is done to keep the rotor weight as low as possible. We recommend using the Cobalt C7 Z07 racing brake pads with this system.

Upgrading your brakes with these lightweight, high-performance replacements is an excellent solution to the expensive, fragile ceramic rotors on the C7 Corvette Z06 w/Z07 package.

The central hat section of the disc is made from 6061-T6 aircraft specification aluminum. The disc is manufactured in the US from cast iron, made to the same specification with the same material used by professional racing organizations. The rotor's curved-vane design was developed in racing as a centrifugal pump to force cooling air through the disc.

The rotor and hat mount together through a floating mount system of high strength alloy steel drive pins, manufactured by Girodisc in the US to their own specifications and cadmium plated for corrosion resistance. The alloy drive pins transfer the load from the brake action while maintaining the axial and radial float between the disc rotor and hat. The pins are secured by Grade-12 cap screws with hardened washers and mounted with anti-noise spring washers to allow for heat expansion while eliminating the rattle and noise associated with floating rotors.

The two-piece Girodisc design allows for rotor only replacement as well to minimize future replacement costs and deliver outstanding performance.
