What is the best helmet for kart racing? The Stilo ST6 CMR Carbon Lite kart helmet is widely considered one of the best youth karting helmets, offering premium features for serious kart racers.
Why do I need a racing helmet?Auto and kart racing helmets are essential for protecting your head in high-speed accidents. They also shield against debris and, in some motorsports, fire—making them a non-negotiable safety requirement.
How do I choose the right size Kart Racing helmet?Use a flexible tape to measure the circumference of your head just above your eyebrows and ears. Compare the measurement to the sizing chart. For more help, read our blog on how to fit your helmet properly at Competition Motorsport.
What safety standards should I look for in a youth kart racing helmet? Look for the FIA CMR-2106 certification for karting.
Can I use a motorcycle helmet for kart racing? No. Motorcycle helmets lack the kart-specific certifications and features like proper ventilation and impact resistance optimized for karting. Always use a helmet rated for motorsport competition.
How often should I replace my kart racing helmet?Replace your helmet every few years depending on usage and the manufacturer's guidance. If it’s been dropped, involved in an impact, or shows signs of wear, replace it immediately.
Are expensive racing helmets safer than budget ones?Yes, typically. While both must meet minimum safety standards, premium helmets offer lighter materials, better fit, improved aerodynamics, and enhanced comfort, all of which impact race performance and fatigue.

What's Changing in SA2025 Auto Racing Helmets?
SA2025 helmets are here, and while the changes may not be groundbreaking, they represent an important evolution in motorsport safety. According to the Snell Memorial Foundation, the SA2025 standard is an evolutionary update from SA2020‚ not a complete overhaul. Unlike the M2025 motorcycle standard, which adds rotational impact testing, the SA2025 auto racing helmet standard does not include rotational force requirements.
Key SA2025 Helmet Safety Enhancements:
Increased Impact Protection: SA2025 helmets are required to handle slightly higher impact speeds and achieve lower maximum peak G-force thresholds across all head-form sizes.
Global FIA Alignment: These updated requirements bring the SA2025 standard into alignment with the new FIA 8859-2024 helmet safety regulation, creating more consistency across international motorsports.
In short: SA2025 helmets are designed to offer enhanced linear impact protection, making them the safest Snell-rated auto racing helmets to date. Whether you're a competitive racer or a weekend track day enthusiast, upgrading to an SA2025-certified helmet ensures compliance with future racing regulations and gives you peace of mind at speed.

Measuring Your Head For Your New Stilo ST6 FN Composite Helmet
The most effective helmet is one that fits properly. To measure your head, have an assistant use a dressmaker's tape or a piece of string to measure the circumference of your head. Start at a point about an inch above your eyebrows, looping around the back of your head at the point that results in the largest measurement, and finally around to the front again. It's a good idea to take two or three measurements to make sure you have the largest one.

A2-239 Girodisc 2pc Rear Brake Rotors (ZL1 Gen 5)
$1,100.00
Competition Motorsport is an authorized dealer for Girodisc products. As one of the largest stocking dealers in the country, we ship most Girodisc products the same or next business day to ensure we meet your delivery deadline.
Fits Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Gen 5
The Girodisc system is a direct replacement for the OE disc, they will bolt directly to the car and work with OE calipers perfectly. By upgrading your brakes with lightweight high performance replacements as opposed to a big brake kit, your factory bias is maintained as well as your ABS efficiency.
The central hat section of the Girodisc rotor is made from strictly USA-sourced 6061-T6 aircraft specification aluminum. The disc is made from Girodisc's own proprietary cast iron, poured in the USA and machined from start to finish in house at Girodisc. The rotor utilizes a curved-vane design, developed in racing to act as a centrifugal pump forcing cool air through the disc.
The disc and hat have a floating mount system, which utilizes 12 high-strength alloy steel drive pins, manufactured in the US by Girodisc and cadmium plated for long-lasting corrosion resistance. These pins take the loads from braking while maintaining the axial and radial float between the hat and disc. They are secured by class 12.9 cap screws and hardened washers.
In order to keep the rotors from making noise when cold, the pins are mounted with anti-noise springs on the disc side, allowing the iron disc to expand as it heats up while eliminating the rattle and noise commonly associated with floating rotors. This float also allows the rotor to self center between the brake pads.
Once the Girodisc system is in place, you simply replace the cast iron discs when needed. This reduces cost over time by allowing you to re-use the aluminum central hats.
