A1-123 Girodisc 2pc Front Brake Rotors (SLS AMG) - Competition Motorsport
GiroDisc Racing Brakes & Technologies A1-123 Girodisc 2pc Front Brake Rotors for Mercedes SLS AMG (Garage Sale) $1,085.66 $1,550.00
A1-123 Girodisc Two-Piece 390mm Front Brake Rotors (Discontinued Design) FITMENT: Mercedes SLS AMG Discontinued New old stock rotor.  These have the straight grooves as images show, not the new curved grooves.  Final Sale, no returns or exchanges. Competition Motorsport is an authorized dealer for Girodisc products and we are one of the largest stocking dealers in the country. We ship most products same or next business day to ensure we meet your delivery deadline. The Girodisc system is an upgrade to a two-piece steel rotor and aluminum hat combination and is a direct replacement for the OEM brake rotors. These two-piece floating rotors will bolt directly to the car and work with your OEM calipers perfectly. By upgrading your brakes with these lightweight, high-performance replacements (as opposed to a big brake kit), your factory brake bias is maintained, along with your ABS efficiency. Girodisc two-piece floating rotors are lighter than OEM brake rotors. This reduction in rotational mass and unsprung weight allows for quicker acceleration, sharper steering, and faster suspension response. When used with Pagid or PFC performance brake pads, and Competition Motorsport RF-1 brake fluid (available from Competition Motorsport), you have an amazing solution to overheating, cracking and warping rotors. The central hat section of the disc is made from 6061-T6 aircraft specification aluminum. The disc is manufactured from cast iron constructed in the USA, made to the same specification with the same material used by professional racing organizations. The rotors' curved vane design was developed in racing and acts as a centrifugal pump to force cooling air through the disc. The rotor and hat mount together through a floating mount system which utilizes ten high strength alloy steel drive pins manufactured by Girodisc in the USA to their own specifications and are cadmium plated for corrosion resistance. The alloy drive pins transfer the load from the brake action while maintaining the axial and radial float between the disc rotor and hat. The pins are secured by Grade-12 cap screws with hardened washers and mounted with anti-noise spring washers to allow for heat expansion while eliminating the rattle and noise associated with floating rotors. The two-piece Girodisc design allows for disc-only replacement as well, minimizing future replacement costs and delivering outstanding performance. Sold/priced per pair.

Arai GP-7 Helmet SA2020 - Competition Motorsport
Arai Helmet Limited Arai GP-7 Helmet SA2020 from $1,069.95
Arai GP-7 SA2020 Helmet A driver favorite, the Arai GP-7 SA2020 helmet combines the most popular Arai features with new, improved upgrades. The Arai GP-7 is constructed with Arai’s own PBcLc (Peripherally Belted Complex Laminate) shell construction and the same shell shape as the Formula One-grade GP-7SRC model. New ventilation, a soft EPS liner, and a wider eye port for optimized peripheral vision are part of this new shell which gives the driver notable strength and flexibility. Replaceable cheek pads make racing comfortable for any driver, as do the three larger, closeable intake vents and two larger exhaust vents on the ventilation system. The Arai GP-7 helmet is Snell SA2020 certified with factory-installed M6 washers/nuts. Drivers of any skill level can install their own Head and Neck Restraint system using a 6mm bolt. The FIA-8859-2015 certification sticker is applied to the interior liner of the helmet. THE ARAI GP-7 AUTO RACING HELMET POSITIVE SHIELD LATCH Simple yet effective, the positive latch mechanism on the Arai GP-7 SA2020 helmet gives the driver solid shield latching, but is seamlessly integrated into the standard shield system for ease of use. NEW SHIELD PIVOT HARDWARE FOR THE ARAI GP-7 HELMET The Arai GP-7 SA2020 features new shield pivot hardware with improved aerodynamics based on the updated track slider design. An increased peripheral field of view is featured on the 6 series, which surpasses the 5 series in visibility. The wider eye port, shield, and pivot hardware were all developed on the RC and adapted to the Arai GP-7 SA2020 helmet. Additional Arai GP-7 shields in various tints and colors available here. ARAI GP-7 AUTO RACING HELMET VENTILATION Increased airflow is key to the GP-7 SA2020 helmet’s design. This includes bigger, closeable intake vents with large 10mm holes in both front and rear. Larger rear vents also provide better airflow. M6 ANCHORS FOR THE ARAI GP-7 HELMET Drivers of all skill levels will appreciate the integrated, pre-installed M6 threaded washer/nut with 6mm threads which accepts a range of Head and Neck Restraint devices. A flat surface area around the mounting nut will let the anchor post base to rest flush along the surface of the helmet and around the full perimeter of the anchor base. FIA-8859-2015 certification sticker applied to the interior liner material. NEW CHINBAR FOR THE ARAI GP-7 The Arai GP-7 SA2020’s new, ergonomic chinbar and ridge at the bottom edge of the shell lowers the center of gravity and increases the structural integrity of the helmet. Additional improvements include a rise in the shell above the shoulders for increased clearance. EJECT READY CROWN PAD OF THE ARAI GP-7 HELMET Arai's optional Eject system can be easily accommodated via a pre-cut pocket under the helmet’s crown pad. ARAI GP-7 HELMET SIZES XS (54cm) - L (60cm) ARAI GP-7 HELMET COLORS Gloss White and Matte Black Be sure to check out the Competition Motorsport Performance Racing Helmet Bag to keep your new Arai GP-7 safe and secure throughout each race weekend. The most effective helmet is one that fits properly. To measure your head, have an assistant use a dressmaker's tape or a piece of string to measure the circumference of your head. Start at a point about an inch above your eyebrows, looping around the back of your head at the point that results in the largest measurement, and finally around to the front again. It's a good idea to take two or three measurements to make sure you have the largest one. This helmet will ship with signature required for delivery.

Ferodo Racing Ferodo FRP3155 Brake Pads $1,060.00
Ferodo FRP3155 Brake Pads Ferodo DS3.12 Brake Compound Details The DS3.12 is the latest evolution in Ferodo's incredible DS line. Sports cars today have more of everything: more horsepower, more sophisticated aero, higher curb weights, and stickier tires. These attributes place serious demands on a vehicle's brake system. The Ferodo DS3.12 is the modern pad compound designed from the start to explicitly handle those demands. The Ferodo DS3.12 is a top-tier endurance racing brake pad compound built for maximum fade resistance, high friction, and extremely consistent performance at elevated temperatures. If you need a Ferodo track brake pad for aggressive braking, long sessions, and serious motorsport use, DS3.12 is one of the strongest options in the lineup. The DS3.12 compound provides strong initial bite, a highly stable torque curve, and dependable braking performance in demanding track conditions. It is ideal for experienced drivers, endurance racing, and high-grip applications where repeatable stopping power matters most. Maximum fade resistance in the Ferodo range High friction and strong initial bite Very consistent braking response at track temperatures Excellent durability in endurance racing use Best for: advanced track-day drivers and racers who want a high-performance race brake pad with elite heat capacity and confidence-inspiring consistency. Note: DS3.12 is a full race compound and may produce increased dust, disc wear, and reduced cold performance compared with street-oriented pads. Ferodo FRP3155 Comparison Chart Out of all the pad compounds we've ever tested, from all manufacturers, the Ferodo DS3.12 shows the flattest torque curve across the broadest temperature range. That means on every turn, on every track you drive, on every lap, your brake pedal is going to feel almost exactly the same, providing tremendous consistency and repeatability. The DS3.12 has a higher mu (µ) than Ferodo's other compounds, so not as much pedal pressure is required to initiate the desired response. It is also un-fadable, showing no drop in performance at any temperature your brakes will ever see. Ferodo FRP3155 Coefficient of Friction (Mu) Comparison Chart In dyno testing, the Ferodo DS3.12 has shown superior wear rates to the other Ferodo compounds, while remaining kind to brake rotors. We believe the Ferodo DS3.12 will become the gold standard by which other race compounds will be judged. Ferodo FRP3155 Operating Temperature Comparison Chart **Designed for use with iron brake rotors only. Not for use with carbon-ceramic rotors.**

Ferodo Racing Ferodo FRP3153 Brake Pads $1,060.00
Ferodo FRP3153 Brake Pads Ferodo DS3.12 Brake Compound Details The DS3.12 is the latest evolution in Ferodo's incredible DS line. Ferodo DS1.11 Brake Compound Details The DS1.11 has a lower mu than the DS3.12 at all temperatures and can be characterized as a moderate mu pad vs. other endurance racing compounds. They require more pedal force than the DS3.12, and they have a slightly declining torque curve as temperatures rise. As they get hotter and you dive deeper into a turn, you may feel like you need to push a little harder on the brake pedal to elicit the same response (which is a feel many drivers actually prefer). Some drivers feel that the DS1.11 is more controllable on street tires than DS3.12 since ABS cannot be activated as easily. It will last a fairly long time vs. many other pad compounds on the market but does not last quite as long as the DS3.12. They are very gentle on discs at track temperatures when a proper pad transfer layer is maintained. The DS1.11 also has an outstanding max temp and fade resistance, just not quite as high as 3.12. We're not aware of anyone who has faded them, and most people differentiate between the DS1.11 and DS3.12 based on feel. The Ferodo DS1.11 is a proven endurance racing brake pad compound designed for drivers who need outstanding fade resistance, long pad life, and precise control under repeated high-temperature braking. For track cars and serious HPDE builds, DS1.11 is a trusted Ferodo race brake pad with a strong reputation for consistency. This DS1.11 features stable braking performance, excellent modulation, and durability in demanding track conditions. Compared with more street-focused compounds, DS1.11 is better suited to aggressive lapping, endurance sessions, and drivers who value a progressive pedal feel. Exceptional fade resistance for track use Long wear characteristics in endurance-style driving Progressive, controllable pedal feel Excellent choice for HPDE and racing applications Best for: drivers looking for a track brake pad with durability, modulation, and high-temperature stability for repeated hard use. Note: DS1.11 is a race compound and is not ideal for customers seeking low noise, low dust, or refined street manners. Ferodo DSUNO Brake Compound Details For our customers who enjoy the performance of the DS1.11, but just want a little more bite, we recommend the DSUNO. It doesn't wear quite as long as the DS1.11, but it does offer a higher overall mu once it reaches track temperatures. Ferodo DS2500 Compound Details Although we always recommend using a dedicated race pad for the track, the DS2500 is one of the best hybrid street/track pads on the market. It features the moderately high bite and solid fade resistance of a track pad, with the relatively low dust and noise levels of a street pad. When used as a street pad, it can produce some squeal on certain vehicle platforms. If you drive aggressively on the street, do some canyon runs, autocross, and maybe some light track duty on street tires, the DS2500 is tough to beat. The Ferodo DS2500 is one of the most popular performance brake pad compounds for drivers who want strong braking on the street and dependable performance at the track. If you are looking for a street and track brake pad with excellent cold bite, low noise, and impressive fade resistance, the DS2500 is a proven choice. The DS2500 delivers confident pedal feel, consistent stopping power, and better high-temperature performance than typical street pads. It is an excellent option for spirited driving, autocross, HPDE, and dual-purpose performance cars. Strong cold bite for street use Low noise when properly bedded Excellent fade resistance for a dual-purpose pad Great match for performance street tires Best for: drivers who want a versatile Ferodo brake pad for daily driving, canyon runs, and light to moderate track use without giving up refinement. Note: DS2500 is a race-derived compound and may produce more dust than an ordinary OEM street pad. Ferodo DS3000 Brake Compound Details The predecessor to DS1.11, DS3000 offers high initial bite with excellent feel and release. Popular among rally teams, DS3000 has a relatively low cold temperature threshold while still offering high temp stability for tarmac. DS3000 is very easy on discs at the expense of pad wear. Ferodo FRP3153 Comparison Chart Out of all the pad compounds we've ever tested, from all manufacturers, the Ferodo DS3.12 shows the flattest torque curve across the broadest temperature range. That means on every turn, on every track you drive, on every lap, your brake pedal is going to feel almost exactly the same, providing tremendous consistency and repeatability. Bell Kart Racing Helmets – Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) Safety is critical in kart racing, and selecting the right helmet plays a key role in protecting your performance and well-being. If you're investing in your racing future, here's everything you need to know about Bell Kart Racing Helmets. General Helmet Questions What is the best helmet for kart racing? The Bell KC7-CMR is widely considered one of the best karting helmets, offering a carbon shell, Snell K2020 certification, and premium features for serious kart racers. Why do I need a racing helmet?Auto and kart racing helmets protect your head in high-speed accidents and shield against debris and, in some motorsports, fire. A helmet is the most important safety item you own. How do I choose the right size kart racing helmet?Use a flexible tape to measure your head just above the eyebrows and ears. Compare the result to Bell’s sizing chart. For step-by-step help, read our helmet fitting guide at Competition Motorsport. What safety standards should I look for in a kart racing helmet?Snell K2020 certification is the top safety standard for kart racing. It ensures rigorous impact protection. Avoid DOT-only helmets—they are not rated for motorsport use. Can I use a motorcycle helmet for kart racing? No. Motorcycle helmets lack kart-specific certifications and may not offer the impact resistance and ventilation optimized for karting. Always choose a motorsport-rated helmet. How often should I replace my kart racing helmet?Replace your helmet every 3–5 years depending on use. Replace it immediately if it has been dropped, damaged, or involved in an impact—even if no damage is visible. Are expensive helmets safer than budget ones?Yes, in most cases. Premium helmets typically use lighter, stronger materials and offer better ventilation and comfort—all factors that reduce driver fatigue and improve safety. Helmet Use, Fit & Maintenance How do I maintain and clean my helmet?Use helmet-safe cleaners like the Molecule Care Kit. Do not submerge the helmet. Clean visors gently with microfiber cloths to avoid scratching. Do I need to wear a balaclava under my helmet?A balaclava improves comfort, protects the liner, and wicks away sweat. Fire-rated balaclavas are recommended and often required in competitive environments. Is the Snell K2020 rating important?Yes. It’s the most widely accepted kart helmet certification in national and international competition. Always check your series' rulebook for specific helmet requirements. Can I wear glasses with my kart helmet?Yes. Bell helmets feature wide eye ports compatible with most prescription glasses and racing eyewear, allowing for a stable, fog-free fit. Are carbon fiber helmets better?Carbon fiber helmets are lighter and stronger than traditional composite helmets. They reduce fatigue in long sessions while offering superior impact protection. Can I use a used helmet for racing? No. Damage or aging may not be visible, and older helmets may no longer meet current safety standards. Always buy new from a trusted dealer like Competition Motorsport. Performance Questions How can I prevent helmet fogging?Use anti-fog visors like Bell’s DSAF system, or apply an anti-fog spray or insert. Keep vents open to maintain airflow inside the helmet during races. Why is ventilation important?Ventilation keeps you cool, reduces moisture inside the helmet, and helps prevent fatigue during intense sessions. A properly ventilated helmet helps you perform at your best. How do I store my helmet between races?Store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Use a padded helmet bag—like the Competition Motorsport Evo Helmet Bag—to prevent damage during storage or transport. Helmet Certification Questions What is the difference between Snell K2020 and CMR2016 certifications?Snell K2020 is for adult helmets, offering top-tier impact protection. CMR2016 is required for drivers under 15, with a lighter shell to reduce neck fatigue in younger racers. Are tear-off visors necessary?Yes. Tear-offs are a must-have for outdoor karting. They keep your visor clear by allowing you to quickly remove dirty outer layers while racing. How do I know if my helmet is still safe to use?Inspect it regularly for cracks, fading, and loose components. Replace it after any significant impact or every 5 years regardless of use. Never compromise on safety. Can I customize my helmet?Yes. Many brands—including Bell—offer customization options. However, never drill or alter the helmet shell, as it may void the warranty and compromise safety certifications. Where can I buy a certified kart racing helmet?Buy from trusted experts like Competition Motorsport. Shop online or in-person at one of our retail locations across the USA. We carry all top brands including Arai, Bell, Stilo, and Schuberth—and support hundreds of race events nationwide.
