Girodisc GP-Series Brake Pad Overview
The Girodisc GP-Series brake pads in the 1741 shape deliver high-performance braking for Porsche 991, 992, and 718 GT4 applications. Engineered for consistent torque, stable friction, and excellent pedal feel, these pads are available in three compound options to match your driving style—from daily street use to full-time track duty. All three compounds fit the same front calipers and rotor setup, making it easy to select the level of performance you need.
GP10 Street Compound
Designed for spirited daily driving, the GP10 compound offers fast cold bite, low noise, and low dust while maintaining stable performance during aggressive street use.
GiroDisc GP30 - Endurance Race Compound
Built for long stints, the GP30 delivers consistent friction over extended sessions with reduced wear and excellent rotor friendliness—ideal for endurance racing or heavy track use.
GiroDisc GP35 - Race Pad for All Occasions
Our GP35 compound combines the best of both worlds into one all-around race pad. We took some of the longevity of our endurance pads, some of the bite of our sprint pads, and worked to develop a compound that can do it all. As a bonus, it’s easy to bed, which means less time figuring your brakes out, and more time driving on the track.
The GP35 is designed to work with street car ABS as well as motorsport-grade ABS found in factory-built race cars. The torque curve is designed to be smooth and linear, which leads to superior modulation and release under trail braking. These pads work with a wide range of tires, from DOT street tires to R-compounds to full race slicks.
It has become our most popular compound and is the compound we recommend most frequently to track day drivers and shops running cars in professional racing series.
Note: this compound is only compatible with iron rotors.
Girodisc GP-Series Pad FAQs
Which compound is best for everyday street driving? GP10 is the recommended choice for daily use thanks to low dust, quiet operation, and reliable cold bite.
Are the GP30 or GP35 compounds okay to use on the street? They can be used, but both are optimized for track temperatures and may produce more noise and dust when cold.
Do these pads fit the factory Porsche iron rotors? Yes, all GP-Series 1741 pads are fully compatible with OEM iron rotors as well as Girodisc two-piece steel rotors.
Do these pads require a bedding procedure? Yes, proper bedding is necessary to establish an even transfer layer and achieve maximum performance.
Are the pad shapes the same across GP10, GP40, and GP30? Yes — all three compounds use the exact same 1741 pad shape and fit the same vehicles.
