GiroDisc 1382 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What’s the difference between the GP40 and GP10 compounds?
The GP40 is a high-bite sprint racing pad for aggressive braking and short sessions. The GP10 is a smoother, longer-wearing compound ideal for street and track day use.
Can I daily drive with GP40 or GP10 pads?
GP10 is the best compromise between street and track use. GP40 compound pads are engineered for track-only use. They may be noisy, dusty, and lack the cold bite necessary for street driving.
Do both compounds fit the same D1382 shape?
Yes. Both GP40 and GP10 are available in the D1382 pad shape, compatible with various performance calipers.
What type of racing is GP40 best for?
The GP40 compound excels in endurance formats such as 6-, 12-, or 24-hour races where consistency and wear resistance are key.
Do I need GiroDisc rotors to use these pads?
No, but pairing these pads with GiroDisc two-piece rotors is recommended for the best results.
