We’ve sold tens of thousands of helmets here at Competition Motorsport and, in the process of doing that, answered a million questions (probably) about them. With that in mind, this article will give you the real lowdown on selecting a proper auto racing helmet. We’ll go over the why’s and how’s of size, shape, certification, pricing, features, and maintenance so you have the tools you need to select the perfect helmet.
If you mount it on or install it in your vehicle for track days or wheel-to-wheel racing, the Competition Motorsport Racecar Gear collection is where you'll find it!
Bought the Stilo ST5.1 GT Composite when there was an almost 50% discount. I already bought the Bell K1 Pro so I had 2 helmets to test on before I decided to keep the Stilo because of the build quality and comfort as well as the customizability. One small disadvantage is the small eye port so if you wear glasses like me, it will be a bit of a hassle to insert your glasses but I decided to sacrifice a bit of convenience for the build quality and overall aesthetics of the Stilo. Been to multiple karting sessions already and it works superbly and light!

Sizing Runs a Bit Small
I had to go up a size compared to my previous Stilo helmet. Check the size chart before buying.
