MyChron5S 2T has been designed to provide both basic info (for new racers) and the most sophisticated data to karting professionals. Fully configurable layout lets you customize the data, color, LED indicators, etc. to suit your individual needs. The MyChron 5S 2T comes with a Y-Cable for temperature sensors, an EGT thermocouple, and your choice of either a CHT (cylinder head temp) or H2O (water jacket) thermocouple. Using a two-satellite sensor, the MyChron 5S 2T provides super-accurate GPS data for lap/split times, position, speed, etc. We have a huge track database for easy download of detailed track info.
For ten years, the MyChron4 was the benchmark gauge in karting data acquisition. AiM re-establishes the benchmark with the MyChron 5S 2T -- a leap ahead of the 4 (and all its imitators). LCU-One CAN is the lambda controller unit designed to work exclusively with Bosch LSU 4.9 wideband probes, which are the quickest and most accurate way to analyse exhaust gases and provide a real time parameter related to engine carburetion.
Lambda probes can be applied to two- and four-strokes engines, gasoline, diesel, methane or alcohol based fuels.
LCU-One CAN communicates with your AiM MXL, MXL2, or MXG/MXS dash; EVO3/EVO4/EVO5 data logger; SoloDL lap timer; or MyChron4/MyChron5 kart dash via CAN. This provides lambda value, air/fuel ratio, probe temperature and diagnostics parameters. An external 12 volt battery is required to supply power to the whole AiM system, and any other AiM expansions. LCU-One CAN is the only AiM Lambda Controller compatible with MyChron5.

The GPS09 module from AiM further expands the track mapping abilities of AiM data loggers and dash loggers. In addition, the GPS09 allows lap timing (even split times) without the use of trackside beacons, storing data for up to 50 tracks with up to 5 splits per track. The GPS09 can also calculate and log speed, lateral and longitudinal g-forces, and of course vehicle position.The GPS09 is the latest version, boasting a quicker 25 Hz sampling rate (up from 10 Hz) and positional accuracy to less than one foot (down from 2 meters). It also takes full advantage of Race Studio 3's integration of GPS, video, and data.
Simple to install: Just connect the CAN cable to your dash and mount the magnetic-backed GPS antenna to your vehicle roof. The GPS unit willl even automatically configure itself during start-up!
The GPS09 connects via a 5-pin 712 screw-in conncetor and is compatible with current-generation AiM MXL2/ MXG/MXP/MXS auto dashes, EVO4S/EVO5 data loggers, and SmartyCam HD GP 2.2. Choose a cable length to suit your installation: 1.3m (4 ft) is appropriate for most formula cars and bikes. 4m (13 ft) is long enough for sedans.
SmartyCam Note: Only the SmartyCam HD GP 2.2 takes this version. SmartyCam HD, SmartyCam HD GP, and SmartyCam HD 2.1 all require the AiM GPS09B which has a 4-pin connector.

AiM MyChron Expansion
The AiM MyChron Expansion is an add-on for the MyChron4 or MyChron5 Kart Racing Data Logging Dash. It plugs into the CAN expansion port on your MyChron dash to expand its capabilities. The Expansion has a single CAN expansion port plus four additional sensor inputs. All four inputs can accept common karting sensors (brake/throttle pedal position, temperature, steering angle, etc.). One of the four inputs can accept a speed sensor instead. Requires an external 12-volt power source such as your kart's battery.
The MyChron Expansion channel multiplier improves MyChron5 and MyChron5 2T (and also MyChron4 and MyChron4 2T) performance, thanks to four additional channels and a further CAN bus connector. Through this last connector, the systems can be connected to LCU-One Lambda controller and SmartyCam HD (and to GPS and Data key for MyChron4 systems).
Thanks to its specific wirings, MyChron Expansion powers the systems and their peripherals with an external battery, avoiding internal battery consumption.
All channels are easily configurable as analog through the system menu to sample data coming from:
Exhaust gas valve position sensor (very important to understand at which RPM value the exhaust port opens)

SmartyCam requires the AiM 7-pin to 5-pin CAN Cable (Part No. MC-542, included with the SmartyCam). The ECU Bridge also features a special port for a USB cable (included) for easy connection to your computer for setup. ECU Bridge is available with CAN/RS232 connection, for direct installation on aftermarket ECUs.
ECU Bridge and RPM Bridge are needed whenever engine data are to be visualized on a display or on a SmartyCam HD video, if no recording is required. ECU Bridge is used when the ECU transmits data via OBDII, CAN or RS232.
AiM has developed hundreds of different protocols to make compatibility with virtually any ECU possible, stock or aftermarket. ECU Bridge has to be properly configured with Race Studio 2 software to communicate with the different visors/cameras on one side and ECUs on the other side.

This "absolute pressure" sensor is ideal for measuring vapor (gas) pressures, from intake boost to crankcase pressure. The 50 psi pressure range is based on perfect vacuum (i.e., from 15 psi below atmospheric pressure to 35 psi above). This sensor is marked "0-50psiA" to differentiate it from the standard 0-50 psi sensor (marked "0-50psiSG"), which does not measure vacuum.
KA pressure sensors are more robust than VDO-style pressure sensors, but they should still be isolated from engine heat and vibration whenever possible. It is compatible with these AiM products:
