Alpinestars Tech-1 KX v3 Karting Gloves
The Alpinestars Tech-1 KX v3 Karting Gloves are premium performance gloves engineered for racers who prioritize lightweight steering feel, precise grip, and long-session comfort. Their dual-layer stretch construction follows the movement of the hand while minimizing unnecessary bulk between the driver and steering wheel.
A synthetic suede palm combines with strategically positioned silicone printing to deliver dependable traction and detailed steering feedback. External finger seams, pre-curved construction, ventilated sidewalls, and a 180-degree elasticated wrist create a close competition fit designed for demanding kart races, qualifying sessions, and extended practice days.
Premium Lightweight Karting Performance
The Tech-1 KX v3 uses technical construction methods intended to reduce weight without sacrificing durability or support. Its streamlined chassis allows the driver to feel steering loads and front-tire behavior without the disconnected sensation created by heavily padded gloves.
This lightweight approach is particularly useful for racers who prefer a direct connection with the wheel and make frequent, precise steering corrections throughout a session.
Dual-Layer Stretch Nylon-Cotton Construction
The main glove assembly combines stretch nylon and cotton in a flexible two-layer structure. The material conforms closely to the hand while allowing the knuckles and fingers to move naturally through repeated steering inputs.
A close fit also helps prevent loose fabric from shifting, folding, or bunching between the palm and steering wheel.
Synthetic Suede Palm
The synthetic suede palm provides a durable and consistent contact surface for the steering wheel. It balances abrasion resistance with the sensitivity required to recognize changes in steering weight, tire grip, and chassis response.
A camo-style palm treatment gives the glove a distinctive appearance while maintaining the low-profile construction expected from a high-level karting glove.
Strategically Positioned Silicone Grip
Silicone printing is applied across the palm and fingers to improve steering-wheel traction. The ergonomic pattern is positioned to support the areas of the hand that experience the greatest contact and load while driving.
The flexible print helps reduce unwanted hand movement without creating a thick or rigid layer that would interfere with steering feel.
External Seams for Reduced Pressure
External finger seams move the stitching away from sensitive areas inside the glove. This creates a smoother interior and helps prevent rubbing, pressure points, and irritation during long races.
Drivers who find conventional internally stitched gloves uncomfortable may especially appreciate the reduced seam bulk around the fingertips and finger joints.
Pre-Curved Finger Construction
The fingers are shaped around the natural position of the hand while gripping a kart steering wheel. This pre-curved profile minimizes material bunching and reduces the effort required to keep the hand closed.
By allowing the hand to rest in a more natural driving position, the glove can help reduce fatigue during endurance races, repeated heats, and long testing sessions.
Breathable Finger Sidewalls
Mesh material along the finger sidewalls promotes airflow through areas where heat and perspiration commonly accumulate. Improved ventilation helps maintain comfort and keeps the glove from becoming excessively damp during warm-weather competition.
The breathable panels are integrated without compromising the close fit or flexibility of the fingers.
Touchscreen-Compatible Thumb and Index Finger
Touch-compatible printing on the thumb and index finger allows the driver to operate many smartphones, tablets, timing devices, and data displays without removing the gloves.
This is useful between sessions when reviewing lap times, checking schedules, recording setup changes, or communicating with the team.
180-Degree Elasticated Wrist
The cuff incorporates an elasticated wrist section extending through 180 degrees for easier entry and secure retention. The opening stretches while the glove is being put on and then contracts around the wrist once positioned.
This construction eliminates the bulk of a large external strap while helping prevent the glove from shifting during aggressive steering movements.

Tech-1 KX v3 Versus Tech-1 K v3
The Tech-1 KX v3 is positioned as the more premium and technically focused option. It emphasizes weight reduction, external-seam comfort, ventilated finger sidewalls, a synthetic suede palm, and a more advanced silicone grip layout.
The Tech-1 K v3 provides strong competition performance at a lower tier, while the KX model is better suited to drivers seeking a more refined fit, lighter feel, and greater attention to steering sensitivity.
Who Should Choose the Tech-1 KX v3?
The Tech-1 KX v3 is a strong choice for experienced club racers, national-level competitors, endurance drivers, and anyone who finds internal finger seams uncomfortable. Its lightweight construction also suits drivers who prefer direct steering feedback rather than thick palm cushioning.
Because this is an earlier-generation model, racers competing under mandatory equipment rules should inspect the glove’s physical homologation label and confirm that it meets the current requirements of their championship.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Tech-1 KX v3 still the current Alpinestars KX glove? No. It is an earlier-generation model that has been succeeded by the Tech-1 KX v4. The v3 can still be an excellent choice when available in the correct size and color.
Does the Tech-1 KX v3 have FIA 8877-2022 approval?Do not assume that it does based only on the model name. Check the homologation label sewn into the specific gloves and verify the accepted standard with your race series before purchasing them for regulated competition.
What makes the KX v3 more premium than the Tech-1 K v3?The KX v3 uses more technical lightweight construction, ventilated finger sidewalls, a synthetic suede palm, external seams, and a refined silicone grip pattern intended to improve comfort and steering sensitivity.
Is the palm heavily padded? No. The glove emphasizes direct steering feedback and low weight rather than substantial vibration-damping padding. Racers wanting more cushioning may prefer a thicker kart glove.
Does the silicone cover the entire palm? The silicone is strategically printed across the palm and fingers rather than forming one solid rubber layer. This provides grip while allowing the glove to remain flexible.
Will the synthetic suede palm stretch with use?The glove may settle slightly as it conforms to the hand, but it should not be purchased excessively tight. The fingers and palm should move freely from the first use.
Why are the finger seams on the outside?External seams keep bulky stitching away from the inside of the fingers, reducing pressure and irritation during long sessions.
Are these cooler than the standard Tech-1 K v3?The mesh finger sidewalls are specifically intended to improve airflow and reduce perspiration buildup. Actual comfort will still depend on temperature, session duration, and individual heat sensitivity.
Do both touchscreen fingertips work with every device? The thumb and index finger include touch-compatible printing, but performance can vary with the device, screen protector, moisture, and fingertip contact angle.
How should these gloves fit at the fingertips? The fingertips should be fully filled without painful pressure. Empty space at the ends can reduce steering sensitivity, while a glove that is too short may restrict movement and stress the seams.
Are the Tech-1 KX v3 Gloves suitable for endurance karting?Yes. Their external seams, pre-curved fingers, breathable sidewalls, and lightweight construction are well suited to extended driving sessions.
Can these gloves be used for sim racing?Yes. The silicone grip and lightweight construction can provide excellent control for sim racing, although the gloves were developed primarily for kart competition.
How should the synthetic suede palm be cleaned?Gently hand wash the gloves in cool water with mild soap. Avoid aggressive scrubbing, bleach, machine washing, and direct heat, which can damage the palm and silicone printing.
How should the gloves be stored between events?Allow them to air dry completely before placing them in a gear bag. Store them flat or loosely shaped in a cool, dry area away from heat and direct sunlight.

Alpinestars Tech-1 Race v3 Nomex Gloves | FIA Approved
$113.00
$226.00
Alpinestars Tech-1 Race v3 Nomex Gloves
The Alpinestars Tech-1 Race v3 Nomex Gloves deliver excellent steering feel, lightweight protection, and premium driving comfort at an accessible price. Developed with construction techniques found in higher-priced racing gloves, the Tech-1 Race v3 combines a bonded aramidic fiber shell, pre-curved fingers, strategically printed silicone grip, and a full-length protective gauntlet.
A minimal-seam design helps reduce bulk and pressure points, while the open cuff and 180-degree elasticated wrist allow quick entry without sacrificing a secure fit. Certified to FIA 8856-2018, the Tech-1 Race v3 provides current fire-resistant protection for competitive motorsport.
Lightweight Aramidic Fiber Construction
The glove’s main structure is made from flame-resistant aramidic fiber bonded for an effective balance of protection, flexibility, and comfort. Alpinestars combines lightweight materials with carefully selected construction methods to reduce overall glove weight without compromising coverage.
The lighter design allows the driver to move naturally between the steering wheel, shifter, paddle controls, and cockpit switches while helping reduce fatigue during extended sessions.
Pre-Curved Fingers and Palm
The Tech-1 Race v3 is shaped around the natural position of the hand while gripping a steering wheel. Pre-curved fingers and a contoured palm reduce the effort required to close the hand and help prevent material from bunching in high-contact areas.
This driving-specific shape promotes a more relaxed grip, allowing the driver to maintain control without unnecessary hand tension.
Comfort-Focused Finger Construction
Inside-stitched seams on all five fingers create a clean exterior and support dependable durability. The carefully shaped finger construction provides a close, responsive fit while maintaining the flexibility needed for steering and cockpit operation.
Minimal seam placement across the glove helps reduce unnecessary material and creates a smoother connection between the hand and steering wheel.
Extended Silicone Grip Printing
Silicone printing extends across the palm and fingers to improve steering-wheel traction and tactile control. The grip pattern is positioned in key contact areas to help the driver maintain a secure hold during braking, cornering, shifting, and rapid steering corrections.
Because the silicone is printed directly onto the glove, it provides dependable grip without the thickness of a separate palm layer.
Direct Steering Feel and Control
The lightweight palm and low-profile silicone print preserve sensitivity through the steering wheel. Drivers can feel steering resistance, vibration, and changes in vehicle balance while maintaining consistent traction.
This combination of grip and feedback helps reduce the need to squeeze the wheel excessively, supporting improved comfort and precision over longer runs.
Single-Panel Full-Gauntlet Top
A full-gauntlet single-panel upper provides streamlined coverage from the hand through the extended cuff. Reducing the number of material transitions helps lower weight and creates a clean, close-fitting profile.
The extended cuff provides additional protection around the wrist and supports proper overlap with the sleeve of a compatible fire-resistant racing suit.
Open Cuff with 180-Degree Elasticated Wrist
Alpinestars’ open-cuff design makes the Tech-1 Race v3 quick and easy to put on between sessions. A 180-degree elasticated wrist holds the glove securely once fitted without requiring a bulky external strap.
The design combines easy entry in the pits with stable retention while the driver is in the car.
Reduced-Weight Printed Graphics
External printed design details give the glove a distinctive Alpinestars appearance without adding the weight and stiffness associated with heavier embroidered overlays.
The low-profile graphics complement the glove’s lightweight construction while maintaining a professional competition look.
FIA 8856-2018 Homologated Protection
The Alpinestars Tech-1 Race v3 Nomex Gloves are certified to the FIA 8856-2018 standard for protective clothing used in automobile competition. The fire-resistant aramidic construction and extended cuff meet modern requirements for heat and flame protection.
Drivers should verify the homologation requirements of their specific racing organization before competition.

OMP Racing
OMP KS-3 Kart Racing Gloves | 2026 Model
$112.00
OMP KS-3 Kart Racing Gloves
The OMP KS-3 Kart Racing Gloves are lightweight performance gloves designed for drivers who prioritize ventilation, direct steering feedback, and unrestricted hand movement. Their breathable AirFlow upper helps reduce heat buildup, while a low-profile silicone palm provides secure steering-wheel traction without adding unnecessary bulk.
Pre-shaped fingers place the hand in a natural driving position, and externally stitched seams keep bulky thread away from sensitive areas inside the glove. Available in adult and junior sizing, the KS-3 offers a practical combination of comfort, grip, and recognizable OMP styling for kart racers at multiple experience levels.
AirFlow Fabric for Hot Track Conditions
The upper glove uses highly breathable, rice-grain-textured AirFlow fabric to promote ventilation around the hand. The open texture allows heat and moisture to escape more easily than a dense conventional fabric.
This construction is especially beneficial during summer races, indoor karting sessions, endurance events, and repeated practice runs where heat buildup can affect concentration and comfort.
Lightweight Silicone Steering-Wheel Grip
A silicone grip treatment across the palm creates dependable traction against the kart steering wheel. The low-profile application helps keep the hands securely positioned during braking, cornering, and rapid steering corrections.
Unlike a heavily padded palm, the lightweight grip surface preserves the detailed feedback needed to recognize changes in steering effort, front-tire grip, and chassis behavior.
Pre-Shaped Ergonomic Fingers
The KS-3 uses pre-shaped fingers that follow the position the hand naturally assumes while holding a kart steering wheel. This reduces the amount of effort required to close the hand and limits material bunching around the finger joints.
A more natural resting position can help reduce fatigue through long heats and makes it easier to maintain consistent steering inputs throughout a race.
External Seams and Finger Forchettes
The finger seams are positioned externally to move stitching away from the inside of the glove. This creates a smoother interior and helps prevent rubbing or concentrated pressure against the fingers.
Separate finger side panels, commonly known as forchettes, improve shaping and allow the glove to fit more naturally around each finger. Together, these features support sensitivity without sacrificing freedom of movement.
Direct Steering Feel Without Heavy Padding
The KS-3 is designed around light weight and steering sensitivity rather than substantial vibration-damping padding. Drivers receive a close connection to the wheel with minimal material between the hand and steering rim.
This makes the glove well suited to racers who value precise feedback. Drivers who experience significant hand fatigue from steering vibration may prefer a thicker model with dedicated palm cushioning.
Straight-Cut Elasticated Wrist
A straight wrist opening gives the KS-3 a clean, streamlined fit. The integrated elastic band helps keep the glove securely positioned without requiring a bulky hook-and-loop adjustment strap.
The flexible opening also allows quick entry and removal between sessions while maintaining a close fit once the glove is on.
Adult and Junior Karting Sizes
The KS-3 is available in adult and junior sizing, making it suitable for younger competitors as well as experienced racers. Drivers should select a size according to hand measurements rather than age alone, since finger length and palm width can vary significantly among junior racers.
A correct fit should fill the fingertips and palm without limiting circulation, forcing the fingers to curl, or leaving loose material against the steering wheel.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the OMP KS-3 carry an FIA 8877-2022 homologation? An FIA 8877-2022 approval has not been confirmed for this listing. Drivers entering events with mandatory glove certification should inspect the label on the physical product and verify acceptance with the championship before ordering.
Is the KS-3 fire resistant for automobile racing? No fire-resistant automobile-racing approval is stated. The KS-3 is designed as a karting glove and should not replace FIA- or SFI-approved Nomex gloves when flame-resistant equipment is required.
What does the rice-grain texture do?The textured AirFlow fabric creates a lightweight, ventilated upper that promotes air movement and helps moisture escape during hot or physically demanding sessions.
Is the KS-3 a padded glove? No. It prioritizes low weight and direct steering feel rather than thick palm cushioning. Racers wanting substantial vibration absorption should consider a glove with dedicated padding or a structured grip material.
How does the KS-3 compare with the OMP KS-2R?The KS-3 is the lighter and simpler option, emphasizing airflow, silicone grip, and value. The KS-2R adds more technical articulation, including flexible bellows, mesh inserts, silicone finger protection, and a longer gauntlet-style construction.
How does it compare with the OMP KS-X?The KS-X is positioned as a more premium competition glove with advanced ergonomic construction and current FIA 8877-2022 homologation. The KS-3 is better suited to drivers prioritizing simplicity, ventilation, and a lower price point.
Are the external seams noticeable while driving? The seams sit along the outside edges of the fingers to remove stitching from the interior. When the glove fits correctly, they should improve comfort without interfering with normal steering-wheel use.
What are finger forchettes?Forchettes are the narrow fabric panels between the fingers. They give each finger more defined shaping and help improve mobility, comfort, and fit.
Are these suitable for a child beginning kart racing?Yes, provided the correct junior size is available and the glove satisfies the event’s equipment rules. Select a size from actual hand measurements rather than the driver’s age.
What should I do if my child is between two sizes?Choose the size that permits full finger movement without large gaps at the fingertips. Avoid buying excessively large gloves for future growth because loose fabric can reduce grip and steering sensitivity.
Are the KS-3 Gloves suitable for endurance karting?Their breathable construction and external seams can work well for long sessions. Drivers who experience vibration-related hand fatigue may prefer a glove with additional palm damping.
Will the silicone grip work with suede and rubber steering wheels? The silicone treatment is designed to provide traction on common kart steering-wheel surfaces. The exact feel and level of tack can vary with the wheel material, moisture, wear, and cleanliness.
Can the KS-3 be used for sim racing?Yes. Its light construction and silicone grip can work well for sim racing, although it is designed primarily for karting.
How should the OMP KS-3 Gloves be washed?Hand wash them gently in cool water with mild soap. Avoid bleach, harsh chemicals, machine drying, and direct high heat that could damage the fabric, elasticity, or silicone grip.
How can I make the silicone palm last longer?Use the gloves mainly for driving and avoid handling abrasive bodywork, tools, fasteners, or rough surfaces. Allow them to air dry completely before storing them.

$106.00
Sparco K-Attack Kart Racing Gloves
The Sparco K-Attack Kart Racing Gloves bring current FIA-approved protection and proven competition features to an accessible price point. Designed for youth and adult kart racers, the K-Attack combines a synthetic-leather palm, high-grip silicone printing, pre-curved fingers, and external seams for confident steering control without unnecessary bulk.
A breathable upper and lining help manage heat during demanding sessions, while the elasticated cuff keeps the glove securely positioned without requiring a bulky adjustment strap. The result is a responsive, comfortable karting glove suited to racers progressing beyond entry-level equipment.
FIA 8877-2022 Approved for Kart Racing
The Sparco K-Attack is homologated to the FIA 8877-2022 standard for karting apparel. This current certification makes it suitable for competitions that require FIA-approved karting gloves.
Drivers should still review the technical regulations for their championship, class, and event because equipment requirements and enforcement dates can vary.
High-Grip Silicone Palm and Fingers
Silicone printing is applied across the palm and fingers to increase traction against the steering wheel. The grip pattern helps prevent unwanted hand movement during hard braking, high-load corners, and rapid steering corrections.
Because the silicone is printed directly onto the palm rather than formed as a thick pad, it preserves the steering feedback needed to feel changes in tire grip and chassis response.
Durable Synthetic-Leather Palm
The synthetic-leather palm creates a stable and abrasion-resistant contact surface for the steering wheel. It supports repeated use while remaining flexible enough for precise steering inputs.
This material also provides a consistent base for the silicone grip print, helping maintain control without the stiffness of a heavily reinforced work-style glove.
Pre-Curved Finger Construction
The fingers are shaped to follow the natural position of the hand around a kart steering wheel. This pre-curved design limits material bunching at the finger joints and reduces the effort required to maintain a secure grip.
A more natural hand position can help reduce fatigue during long heats, endurance races, and full days of testing or practice.
External Seams for a Smoother Interior
External finger seams move bulky stitching away from the inside of the glove. This creates a smoother surface against the fingers and reduces the pressure points commonly felt with internally stitched gloves.
The construction is particularly beneficial for racers who experience fingertip irritation or seam discomfort during extended sessions.
Breathable Construction for Hot Sessions
The lightweight upper and breathable lining promote airflow and help reduce perspiration buildup. Better ventilation helps the gloves remain comfortable during summer events, indoor karting, and physically demanding races.
Keeping the hands cooler and drier also helps maintain a more consistent grip as the session progresses.
Secure Elasticated Cuff
An elasticated cuff provides a close, non-slip fit around the wrist. The simple closure keeps the glove securely positioned during quick steering movements while allowing fast entry and removal between sessions.
Without a large hook-and-loop strap, the wrist remains streamlined and unrestricted.
Sublimated Backhand Graphics
Sublimated graphics give the K-Attack its bold Sparco appearance without adding heavy decorative layers. Because the design is integrated into the fabric, it remains flexible and is less likely to crack or peel than a thick surface print.
Multiple color combinations allow racers to coordinate the gloves with their karting suit, shoes, helmet, kart graphics, or team colors.

Where the K-Attack Fits in the Sparco Karting Range
The K-Attack is designed to provide competition-ready features at a more approachable price than Sparco’s premium karting gloves. It includes external seams, pre-curved fingers, silicone grip, and current FIA homologation without adding specialized vibration-damping materials.
This makes it a strong option for developing racers, club competitors, youth drivers, and experienced karters who want certified performance without paying for features they may not need.
K-Attack Versus K-Arrow+
Both gloves use external seams, pre-curved fingers, silicone grip, and FIA 8877-2022 homologation. The K-Arrow+ is positioned as the more refined model, with a more anatomically focused palm design and Touch-S touchscreen compatibility.
The K-Attack focuses on essential grip, comfort, and certification at a lower price point. Drivers who do not need touchscreen fingertips or the more technical K-Arrow+ construction may find the K-Attack provides better value.
K-Attack Versus K-Tide+
The K-Attack uses a conventional synthetic-leather palm with silicone grip printing. The K-Tide+ uses Sparco’s raised 3D HTX palm, which is designed to add vibration absorption as well as traction.
Drivers who want a lightweight, direct connection with the steering wheel may prefer the K-Attack. Racers dealing with substantial steering vibration or hand fatigue may benefit from the more structured K-Tide+ palm.
Who Should Choose the Sparco K-Attack?
The K-Attack is well suited to youth racers moving into FIA-regulated competition, adult club racers, sprint competitors, and drivers purchasing their first homologated karting gloves.
Its external seams also make it a practical choice for anyone who finds conventional internal stitching uncomfortable. Racers seeking thick palm padding or touchscreen functionality should compare it with other models in the Sparco range.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Sparco K-Attack use HTX palm technology? No. The K-Attack uses a synthetic-leather palm with high-grip silicone printing. Sparco’s raised 3D HTX material is used on more specialized models such as the K-Tide+.
Is the K-Attack FIA approved or only intended for recreational karting? The K-Attack is homologated to FIA 8877-2022. It can be used in competitions accepting that standard, subject to the specific regulations of the event.
Why is the K-Attack less expensive than the K-Arrow+?It focuses on the essential competition features: certification, silicone grip, external seams, breathable construction, and a pre-curved fit. The K-Arrow+ adds more refined shaping and touchscreen functionality.
Does the silicone grip extend onto the fingers?Yes. Silicone printing is used across the palm and fingers to provide traction when gripping and repositioning the hands on the steering wheel.
Is the palm padded for vibration reduction? The K-Attack is not designed around thick vibration-damping padding. It prioritizes lightweight steering feel. Drivers wanting more cushioning should compare it with the Sparco K-Tide+.
Are these gloves suitable for youth FIA competition?Yes, provided the event accepts FIA 8877-2022 and the driver wears the correct size. Dedicated youth sizes 4 through 6 are available.
Do the youth gloves have the same FIA approval as the adult version? The youth K-Attack is part of the same homologated model range. Confirm the FIA label is present on the physical gloves before entering regulated competition.
How should the K-Attack fit when new?The glove should fit closely around the palm and fingers without restricting circulation or forcing the fingers to curl. The fingertips should be filled with little or no empty space.
Will the synthetic-leather palm loosen after break-in?It may conform slightly with use, but racers should not depend on significant stretching. A glove that is painfully tight when new is likely the wrong size.
Do external seams make the fingers feel wider? The stitching is visible outside the fingers, but it removes seam bulk from the interior. Most drivers notice a smoother internal fit rather than a meaningfully wider glove.
Does the K-Attack work well with suede steering wheels?Yes. The silicone print is designed to provide strong grip on common kart steering-wheel materials, including suede. Grip intensity can vary according to wheel condition and cleanliness.
Are the gloves suitable for endurance karting?Yes. Their external seams, pre-curved shape, and breathable lining help reduce discomfort during longer stints. Drivers sensitive to vibration may prefer a more padded model.
Can the K-Attack operate a touchscreen?Touchscreen compatibility is not listed as a K-Attack feature. Drivers wanting Touch-S functionality should consider the Sparco K-Arrow+ or another touchscreen-compatible model.
How should the silicone palm be cleaned?Hand wash the gloves gently in cool water with mild soap. Avoid aggressive brushing, bleach, machine washing, and direct heat that could damage the silicone or synthetic palm.
How can premature palm wear be prevented?Use the gloves primarily for driving. Avoid handling tools, rough kart bodywork, chains, exposed fasteners, or abrasive surfaces while wearing them.
