Lightweight, High-Performance Design
The Girodisc system bolts directly to factory hubs. Some OEM and aftermarket brake pads require minor modification to clear the hardware while retaining the stock parking brake. This simple adjustment involves slightly grinding the backing plate to match the pad’s arc, and full instructions are included. Pads supplied by Girodisc for this application are already CNC-modified for a direct fit.
Each rotor assembly combines a 6061-T6 aluminum hat with Girodisc’s proprietary cast-iron friction ring, cast and machined in the USA. The curved internal vane structure acts as a centrifugal pump, pulling air through the rotor to maximize cooling and reduce fade. At only 11 lbs each versus 18 lbs stock, these rotors significantly reduce unsprung and rotational weight for sharper handling and quicker acceleration.
