Arai GP-7 SA2020 Helmet A driver favorite, the Arai GP-7 SA2020 helmet combines the most popular Arai features with new, improved upgrades. New ventilation, a soft EPS liner, and a wider eye port for optimized peripheral vision are part of this new shell which gives the driver notable strength and flexibility. Replaceable cheek pads make racing comfortable for any driver, as do the three larger, closeable intake vents and two larger exhaust vents on the ventilation system. The Arai GP-7 helmet is Snell SA2020 certified with factory-installed M6 washers/nuts. Drivers of any skill level can install their own Head and Neck Restraint system using a 6mm bolt. The FIA-8859-2015 certification sticker is applied to the interior liner of the helmet. ARAI GP-7 AUTO RACING HELMET VENTILATION Increased airflow is key to the GP-7 SA2020 helmet’s design. This includes bigger, closeable intake vents with large 10mm holes in both front and rear. Larger rear vents also provide better airflow. M6 ANCHORS FOR THE ARAI GP-7 HELMET Drivers of all skill levels will appreciate the integrated, pre-installed M6 threaded washer/nut with 6mm threads which accepts a range of Head and Neck Restraint devices. FIA-8859-2015 certification sticker applied to the interior liner material. NEW CHINBAR FOR THE ARAI GP-7 The Arai GP-7 SA2020’s new, ergonomic chinbar and ridge at the bottom edge of the shell lowers the center of gravity and increases the structural integrity of the helmet. Additional improvements include a rise in the shell above the shoulders for increased clearance. Arai GP-7SRC ABP 8860-2018 Carbon Fiber Helmet - Competition Motorsport
Arai Helmet Limited Arai GP-7SRC ABP 8860-2018 Carbon Fiber Helmet $7,790.00
Arai GP-7SRC ABP Carbon Racing Helmet The Best Arai Auto Racing Helmet The new Arai GP-7SRC ABP is a stunning example of Arai’s vision and technological mastery, engineered into a functional, real-world piece of safety equipment. It begins with a startling advancement: a proprietary Carbon Fiber (CF) weave that combines CF’s existing benefits of high strength and extreme light weight. But there's a major added benefit that standard CF does not possess: flexibility. (Standard CF tends to splinter or shatter instead of flex on impact.) The result is a helmet ready for the unparalleled demands and requirements of high end closed-cockpit racing. The remaining list of Arai GP-7SRC features and advances is impressive because, for this helmet and its prospective user, it simply has to be. The Arai GP-7SRC ABP meets or exceeds the FIA 8860-2018 ABP homologation standard. Advanced Ballistic Protection The Formula One Standard FIA's new ABP (Advanced Ballistic Protection) specification is intended especially for drivers in open cars. The Arai GP-7SRC ABP has been strengthened in the forehead area, incorporating an external intrusion panel (previously mounted to the shield) that is now integrated into the helmet shell itself. The ABP homologation was written to reduce the risk of injury from debris or other objects striking a driver’s head. Arai GP-7SRC ABP 8860-2018 Carbon Fiber Ventilation Three large, close-able, intake vents combined with larger 10mm holes and two additional exhaust vents in the center of the helmet greatly increase air flow. A redesigned exhaust cowling improves aerodynamics, drawing out hot air escaping the helmet. The GP-7SRC comes with all vents unattached so you can customize the vent configuration to your specific needs. Arai Positive Shield Latch Arai's positive latch mechanism provides solid shield closure while allowing normal operation of the shield. Designed as an integral component of the shield system, not just an add-on afterthought, its functional simplicity belies the complexity of the design. Installed HANS Post Anchors Included Integrated seats accommodate a variety of Head and Neck Restraint devices. Pre-installed M6 threaded washer/nut with 6mm threads accepts a variety of anchor systems, making installation easy. The flat surface around the mounting nut allows the anchor post to rest flush on the helmet surface. Arai's Most Advanced ABP Carbon Fiber Shell Available in sizes XS through Large. Arai's proprietary carbon fiber material and weave provide an extremely strong yet flexible material, helping manage impact energy. Multiple reinforcing materials are used to improve performance while keeping weight and bulk to a minimum. Eject-Ready Crown Pad Pre-cut pocket under the crown pad can be easily removed to accommodate the optional eject system. Drink Tube Compatible The GP-7SRC chin liner is now more easily removed to install a drink tube into the liner. The chin liner comes standard with four different drink hose placements. Kart Racing Helmet – Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) Remember that safety is paramount in kart racing, and choosing the right helmet and maintaining it properly is essential for your protection on the track. Consult the professionals at Competition Motorsport any time you have specific questions about your racing helmet. What is the best helmet for kart racing? The Arai SK-6 kart helmet is used by more than 80% of kart racers and widely considered the best karting helmet, offering premium features for serious kart racers. Why do I need a racing helmet? Auto and kart racing helmets are essential for protecting your head in high-speed accidents. They also shield against debris and, in some motorsports, fire—making them a non-negotiable safety requirement. How do I choose the right size kart racing helmet? Use a flexible tape to measure the circumference of your head just above your eyebrows and ears. Compare the measurement to Bell’s sizing chart. For more help, read our blog on how to fit your helmet properly at Competition Motorsport. What safety standards should I look for in a kart racing helmet? Look for the Snell K2020 certification for karting. It ensures your helmet meets rigorous standards for impact protection. Unlike DOT (for street use), K2020 is designed specifically for motorsports. Can I use a motorcycle helmet for kart racing? No. Motorcycle helmets lack the kart-specific certifications and features like proper ventilation and impact resistance optimized for karting. Always use a helmet rated for motorsport competition. How often should I replace my kart racing helmet? Replace your helmet every few years depending on usage and the manufacturer's guidance. If it’s been dropped, involved in an impact, or shows signs of wear, replace it immediately. Are expensive racing helmets safer than budget ones? Yes, typically. While both must meet minimum safety standards, premium helmets offer lighter materials, better fit, improved aerodynamics, and enhanced comfort, all of which impact race performance and fatigue. How do I maintain and clean my kart racing helmet? Clean the exterior and interior using a helmet-specific care product like the Molecule Helmet Care Kit. Avoid submerging the helmet or using abrasive cleaners. Visors should be cleaned gently to avoid scratching. Do I need to wear a balaclava under my kart racing helmet? While not required for all karting events, a balaclava enhances comfort, keeps your helmet liner clean, and helps wick sweat. Fire-rated balaclavas are mandatory in sanctioned auto racing and recommended for high-performance karting. Is the Snell K rating important? Yes. The Snell K2020 certification is the most widely accepted kart helmet standard, required by many racing series to ensure safety and performance. Can I wear glasses with my kart racing helmet? Yes. Wide eye ports make it compatible with most prescription glasses and racing eyewear. A good fit ensures the glasses remain stable and fog-free. Are carbon fiber helmets better? Carbon fiber helmets are lighter and stronger, reducing fatigue during long races while offering excellent impact protection. They are a top choice for competitive drivers. Can I use a used helmet for racing? It’s not recommended. Damage or degradation may not be visible, and older helmets might not meet current safety standards. Always buy new from an authorized dealer like Competition Motorsport. How can I prevent helmet fogging during races? Use a visor with built-in anti-fog technology like Bell’s DSAF system, or apply an anti-fog spray or insert. Keeping your helmet well-ventilated also helps. What's the importance of proper helmet ventilation? Good ventilation helps manage heat and moisture inside the helmet, reducing fatigue and keeping you focused throughout your race. How do I store my kart racing helmet between races? Store your helmet in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Use a padded helmet bag like our Competition Motorsport Evo Helmet Bag to prevent damage during transport or storage. What is the difference between Snell K2020 and CMR2016 certifications? Snell K2020 is designed for adult karting helmets, focusing on impact protection. CMR2016 is tailored for drivers under 15, offering a lighter helmet to reduce neck strain while maintaining safety standards. Are tear-off visors necessary for kart racing? Tear-off visors are beneficial in maintaining clear vision during races by allowing drivers to remove a dirty visor layer quickly. They are especially useful in outdoor karting where debris and dirt are common. How do I know if my helmet is still safe to use? Helmets should be inspected regularly for signs of wear or damage. If a helmet has been involved in a significant impact or shows signs of degradation, it should be replaced immediately. Additionally, helmets should be replaced every 5 years, even if no damage is visible. Can I customize my kart racing helmet? Yes, many manufacturers offer customization options for fit and aesthetics. However, any modifications should not compromise the helmet's structural integrity or safety certifications. Where can I buy a certified racing helmet? Buy from trusted experts like Competition Motorsport, online or in-person at any of our retail locations across the USA. We carry all major brands, including Arai, Bell, Stilo, and Schuberth, and support hundreds of racing events across the country.

Consult the professionals at Competition Motorsport any time you have specific questions about your racing helmet. What is the best helmet for kart racing? The Bell KC7-CMR is widely considered one of the best karting helmets, offering a carbon shell, Snell K2020 certification, and premium features for serious kart racers. Yes. Wide eye ports, make it compatible with most prescription glasses and racing eyewear. What is the difference between Snell K2020 and CMR2016 certifications?Snell K2020 is designed for adult karting helmets, focusing on impact protection. CMR2016 is tailored for drivers under 15, offering a lighter helmet to reduce neck strain while maintaining safety standards.  Are tear-off visors necessary for kart racing?Tear-off visors are beneficial in maintaining clear vision during races by allowing drivers to remove a dirty visor layer quickly. They are especially useful in outdoor karting where debris and dirt are common. How do I know if my helmet is still safe to use?Helmets should be inspected regularly for signs of wear or damage. If a helmet has been involved in a significant impact or shows signs of degradation, it should be replaced immediately. Additionally, helmets should be replaced every 5 years, even if no damage is visible. Can I customize my kart racing helmet?Yes, many manufacturers offer customization options for fit and aesthetics. However, any modifications should not compromise the helmet's structural integrity or safety certifications. Where can I buy a certified racing helmet? Buy from trusted experts like Competition Motorsport, online or in-person at any of our retail locations located around the USA. We carry all major brands, including Arai, Bel, Stilo, and Schuberth, and support hundreds of racing events across the country.
