Stilo ST5 GT ZERO 8860-2018 Carbon Helmet
FIA 8860 Certification valid to 2033 for these ST5 GT Zero Carbon Fiber Helmets
The Stilo ST5 GT ZERO 8860-2018 Carbon Helmet is one of Stilo's most advanced ST5-generation full-face racing helmets, combining an exceptionally lightweight ZERO carbon fiber shell with FIA 8860-2018 protection, integrated accessory ports, excellent visibility, and a design developed specifically for serious closed-cockpit competition.
Built for professional racers and drivers who refuse to compromise on helmet weight or protection, the ST5 GT ZERO delivers the premium construction, comfort, and equipment integration that made the ST5 platform a favorite in GT, endurance, touring-car, and sports-car racing.
FIA 8860-2018 Advanced Helmet Protection
The ST5 GT ZERO is homologated to the FIA 8860-2018 advanced helmet standard. This high-level motorsport specification places demanding requirements on impact protection, shell strength, energy absorption, and penetration resistance.
For racers competing in high-speed professional motorsport, FIA 8860-2018 construction provides a significant step above conventional club-level helmet specifications.
Stilo ZERO Carbon Fiber Construction
The defining feature of the ST5 GT ZERO is its extremely lightweight ZERO carbon fiber shell . Stilo developed the ZERO construction for racers looking to reduce helmet mass as much as possible while retaining FIA 8860-level protection.
Lower helmet weight can reduce strain on the driver's head and neck during heavy braking, high lateral loads, long endurance stints, and extended race sessions.
ST5 GT ZERO Helmet Weight
Small shell: approximately 2.5 lbs. (1130 g) up to size 59 with intercom
Large shell: approximately 2.7 lbs. (1230 g) up to size 64 with intercom
These exceptionally low weights make the ST5 GT ZERO a premium option for racers who place a high priority on reducing helmet mass.
Purpose-Built for Closed-Cockpit Racing
The GT configuration is designed around the needs of drivers competing inside closed-cockpit race cars. Its aerodynamic shell, integrated accessory ports, ventilation capability, communication compatibility, and excellent eyeport visibility make it particularly well suited to GT, endurance, touring-car, prototype, and sports-car racing.
Dual Integrated Side Ports
One of the ST5 GT's most distinctive features is its pair of integrated side ports . Instead of attaching large external fittings to the helmet, Stilo incorporates the accessory connection points directly into the shell design.
The side ports can be configured for several types of driver equipment, allowing the helmet to be tailored to the car and racing application.
Side Port Accessory Options
Integrated communication electronics
Forced-air helmet systems
Driver hydration systems
Helmet Eject system integration
Radio and communication connections
When an accessory is not installed, the ports remain discreet and integrated into the helmet profile.
GT vs. Naked ST5 ZERO
The ST5 GT ZERO includes Stilo's multifunction side ports for electronics, air, hydration, and other accessories.
The ST5 N ZERO , often referred to as the Naked version, removes the side-port system for drivers who prefer the cleanest and simplest possible shell configuration.
Larger Eyeport for Improved Visibility
The ST5 platform features a taller and lower eyeport than previous-generation Stilo helmets, providing improved visibility without sacrificing the coverage expected from a professional full-face racing helmet.
The increased viewing area helps drivers see more of the cockpit, mirrors, gauges, apexes, surrounding traffic, and track environment.
Center Pinch-Clip Visor Latch
The ST5 visor uses Stilo's convenient center pinch-clip locking system . The centrally positioned latch is designed to make visor opening and closing easier, even while the driver is wearing racing gloves.
This placement also allows the visor to be operated naturally with either hand.
ST5 Visor Compatibility
The ST5 GT ZERO uses the standard Stilo ST5 visor family, giving racers access to a wide variety of shield options for different lighting and weather conditions.
Available ST5 shield options include clear, smoked, mirrored, colored, and other specialty configurations.
Eight Top Ventilation Openings
The ST5 GT ZERO includes eight top ventilation openings designed to help move cooling air through the helmet and reduce heat buildup during demanding sessions.
These openings can also be used with compatible Stilo ST5 Top Air systems when forced-air cooling is desired.
Forced-Air System Compatible
For hot closed-cockpit cars, the ST5 GT ZERO can be configured with a compatible forced-air system. The helmet's integrated design allows air-system hardware to be added without turning the helmet into a bulky collection of external fittings.
This makes the GT ZERO especially attractive for endurance racers and drivers competing in high-temperature cockpits.
Integrated Communication Capability
The ST5 GT platform was designed to accommodate professional racing communications. Compatible microphones, speakers, earbuds, radio connections, and other electronics can be integrated into the helmet depending on the driver's communication system.
This approach helps keep wiring organized while maintaining the comfort and fit of the interior.
Hydration System Compatible
The ST5 GT ZERO can also accommodate a compatible driver drinking system through its integrated accessory architecture.
For endurance racing and long sessions, hydration-system integration allows the driver to drink without removing safety equipment or relying on awkward external routing.
Eject System Compatible
The helmet can be configured for use with a compatible Eject helmet-removal system, providing teams and safety crews with another option when preparing the driver's complete safety package.
Factory HANS Anchors Included
The ST5 GT ZERO includes HANS/FHR post anchors , allowing the helmet to be used with compatible Head and Neck Restraint systems.
Having the anchors installed as part of the helmet package simplifies race preparation and ensures the helmet is ready for the restraint equipment commonly required in professional motorsport.
Contoured ST5 Cheek Pads
The ST5 interior uses redesigned, contoured cheek pads developed to improve comfort and helmet stability.
A proper racing helmet should remain firmly positioned on the head during braking, cornering, vibration, and aerodynamic loading without creating excessive localized pressure.

Why Choose the ST5 GT ZERO?
The ST5 GT ZERO is built for the racer who wants the integrated functionality of the ST5 GT platform without giving up the weight advantage of Stilo's ZERO carbon construction.
Its combination of FIA 8860-2018 protection, low shell weight, integrated communication and cooling options, excellent visibility, and HANS compatibility makes it especially well suited to demanding GT and endurance applications.
Getting the Correct Stilo Fit
A properly fitted racing helmet should feel snug and secure around the entire head with even pressure and no concentrated painful areas.
Measure around the widest part of the head using a flexible measuring tape, approximately one inch above the eyebrows and around the rear of the skull. Take two or three measurements and use the largest consistent measurement when selecting a helmet size.
Drivers moving from another helmet brand should select their Stilo size according to actual head circumference rather than assuming the same numerical size will fit identically.
Stilo Size 59 Fit Note
We have found that customers who normally wear a size 59 in other helmet brands are often more comfortable in a Stilo size 60 , which moves the driver into the larger shell. Please measure carefully and order accordingly.
