Designed for both high-performance street use and demanding track conditions, the Girodisc system maintains factory brake bias and ABS functionality while delivering improved cooling and endurance.
Precision Engineering
The rotor rings are machined from Girodisc’s proprietary high-carbon iron alloy, poured and processed entirely in-house in Bellingham, Washington. This advanced metallurgy ensures superior thermal stability and wear resistance under extreme braking conditions. The 30 curved vanes act as centrifugal pumps, drawing air through the hub to enhance rotor cooling during high-load track sessions.

Note: Minor pad modification may be required for proper clearance (see below).
Race-Proven Design with Everyday Reliability
The Girodisc system replaces the OEM one-piece rotors with a fully floating two-piece design that improves cooling efficiency and reduces rotational mass. Each rotor hat is CNC-machined from U.S.-sourced 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum and hard-anodized for strength and corrosion protection. The proprietary cast-iron rings are poured and machined in-house at Girodisc’s U.S. facility, using a curved vane design to draw air through the disc for superior heat dissipation under high-performance conditions.
Features
• Direct-fit upgrade for Mitsubishi Evo 6, 7, 8, and 9 rear brakes• Lightweight two-piece floating construction• CNC-machined 6061-T6 aluminum hats with hard-anodized finish• Proprietary cast-iron friction rings poured and machined in the USA• Curved vane design promotes airflow and reduces fade• Cadmium-plated drive pins resist corrosion and fatigue• Anti-noise spring washers allow controlled thermal expansion• Retains OEM parking brake functionality• Reduced unsprung and rotational weight (approx. 2.5 lbs lighter per rotor)• Sold/priced per pair
Installation Note
The OEM pads and some aftermarket brake pads require minor modification before installation to accommodate the Girodisc hardware and retain the factory parking brake. This involves lightly grinding the pad backing plate to match the arc of the pad material. Girodisc includes full instructions, and pads purchased directly from Girodisc are pre-modified for a plug-and-play fit.
Girodisc A2-008 Rear Rotor FAQs:
Do these fit directly on Evo 6–9 models? Yes. The Girodisc A2-008 rotors are designed specifically for these generations of the Mitsubishi Evolution and bolt directly to the OEM hub and calipers.
Why do the pads need modification? The Girodisc floating design uses additional hardware that slightly changes the clearance between the caliper and rotor. Grinding the backing plate ensures proper fit while keeping the parking brake fully functional.
How do these compare to OEM rotors? Girodisc rotors weigh less, run cooler, and can be rebuilt by replacing only the iron rings—offering long-term savings and improved braking performance.
Are these suitable for track use? Absolutely. The floating two-piece construction and advanced cooling design make them ideal for aggressive street driving and track events.
Upgrade your Evo’s rear braking system with Girodisc rotors for reduced weight, enhanced thermal control, and race-inspired precision built to handle your most demanding driving.

Girodisc Mitsubishi Evo 6–9 Front Rotors
The Girodisc system is a direct replacement for the factory rotors on Mitsubishi Evolution 6, 7, 8, and 9 models. No modifications are required—the discs bolt directly to the car and work with the OEM calipers perfectly. By upgrading to lightweight, high-performance rotors rather than a full big brake kit, your factory brake bias and ABS efficiency remain intact. The Girodisc front rotors weigh approximately 18.2 lbs each compared to the 22 lbs stock rotors, reducing rotational and unsprung weight for sharper suspension response and quicker acceleration.
High-Performance Construction
The hat section of each rotor is precision-machined from U.S.-sourced 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum for exceptional strength and reduced weight. The rotor rings are cast from Girodisc’s proprietary high-carbon iron alloy, poured and machined entirely in-house in the USA. The curved vane internal design functions like a centrifugal pump, forcing cooling air through the rotor to maximize thermal efficiency during demanding track sessions.

The GiroDisc replacement rotor system is a direct rotor disc replacement for the Giro Disc 2-piece hat and rotor and no modifications are necessary.
The rotor and hat mount together through a floating mount system which utilizes 8-10 high strength alloy steel drive pins manufactured by GiroDisc in the USA to our own specifications and are cadmium plated for corrosion resistance. The alloy drive pins transfer the load from the brake action while maintaining the axial and radial float between the disc rotor and hat. The pins are secured by grade12 cap screws with hardened washers and mounted with anti-noise spring washers to allow for heat expansion while eliminating the rattle and noise associated with floating rotors.
The 2-piece GiroDisc design allows for rotor only replacement to minimize replacement costs and deliver outstanding performance and cooling.
