Girodisc Mitsubishi Evo 6–9 Rear Rotors

Transform the braking response of your Mitsubishi Evolution with Girodisc lightweight two-piece rear rotors. Designed for Evo VI through Evo IX models, these precision-engineered rotors reduce unsprung weight, improve heat management, and deliver sharper pedal feel while maintaining factory brake balance and ABS function.
Vehicle Fitment
Compatible with:
• Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI (1999–2001)
• Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VII (2001–2003)
• Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII (2003–2005)
• Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX (2006–2007)
Direct OEM replacement – bolts to factory hubs and calipers with no major modifications required. Note: Minor pad modification may be required for proper clearance (see below).
Race-Proven Design with Everyday Reliability
The Girodisc system replaces the OEM one-piece rotors with a fully floating two-piece design that improves cooling efficiency and reduces rotational mass. Each rotor hat is CNC-machined from U.S.-sourced 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum and hard-anodized for strength and corrosion protection. The proprietary cast-iron rings are poured and machined in-house at Girodisc’s U.S. facility, using a curved vane design to draw air through the disc for superior heat dissipation under high-performance conditions.
Features
• Direct-fit upgrade for Mitsubishi Evo 6, 7, 8, and 9 rear brakes
• Lightweight two-piece floating construction
• CNC-machined 6061-T6 aluminum hats with hard-anodized finish
• Proprietary cast-iron friction rings poured and machined in the USA
• Curved vane design promotes airflow and reduces fade
• Cadmium-plated drive pins resist corrosion and fatigue
• Anti-noise spring washers allow controlled thermal expansion
• Retains OEM parking brake functionality
• Reduced unsprung and rotational weight (approx. 2.5 lbs lighter per rotor)
• Sold/priced per pair
Installation Note
The OEM pads and some aftermarket brake pads require minor modification before installation to accommodate the Girodisc hardware and retain the factory parking brake. This involves lightly grinding the pad backing plate to match the arc of the pad material. Girodisc includes full instructions, and pads purchased directly from Girodisc are pre-modified for a plug-and-play fit.
Girodisc A2-008 Rear Rotor FAQs:
Do these fit directly on Evo 6–9 models? Yes. The Girodisc A2-008 rotors are designed specifically for these generations of the Mitsubishi Evolution and bolt directly to the OEM hub and calipers.
Why do the pads need modification? The Girodisc floating design uses additional hardware that slightly changes the clearance between the caliper and rotor. Grinding the backing plate ensures proper fit while keeping the parking brake fully functional.
How do these compare to OEM rotors? Girodisc rotors weigh less, run cooler, and can be rebuilt by replacing only the iron rings—offering long-term savings and improved braking performance.
Are these suitable for track use? Absolutely. The floating two-piece construction and advanced cooling design make them ideal for aggressive street driving and track events.
Upgrade your Evo’s rear braking system with Girodisc rotors for reduced weight, enhanced thermal control, and race-inspired precision built to handle your most demanding driving.
