A1-211 Girodisc 2pc Front Brake Rotors for Camaro ZL1 (Gen 6)
Girodisc A1-211 Girodisc 2pc Front Brake Rotors for Camaro ZL1 (Gen 6) $1,250.00
A1-211 Girodisc 2pc Front Brake Rotors Fits Chevy Camaro ZL1 (Gen 6), Front The Girodisc system is a direct replacement for the OE disc, but a different brake pad with an annulus (pad swept area) of 66mm or less must be used. We strongly recommend the Pagid 8081. This reduction in rotor annulus is done to keep the weight of the rotors low. The OEM rotors utilize a pillar vane design which is horribly inefficient in terms of dissipating heat. Since the OEM rotors heat-soak very easily, Chevrolet chose an easy solution to this problem: increasing the rotors' mass to combat that heat. We weighed an OEM rotor at 32.5 lbs. -- holy smoke! Girodisc took the functional route instead, engineering a shorter-annulus rotor ring for a total rotor-and-hat weight of 28.0 lbs. This design utilizes 72 directional cooling vanes for an incredibly efficient and robust package. The necessary pad shape is very common, found on other Camaro and Corvette applications equipped with six-piston calipers. If there's a specific pad compound you're after please contact us at (844) 438-7244 and we'll get you what you need! The central hat section of each Girodisc is made from 6061-T6 aircraft specification aluminum. The disc is manufactured from cast iron constructed in the USA, made to the same specification with the same material used by professional racing organizations. The rotors' curved vane design was developed in racing and acts as a centrifugal pump to force cooling air through the disc. The rotor and hat mount together through a floating mount system which utilizes ten high strength alloy steel drive pins manufactured by Girodisc in the USA to their own specifications and are cadmium plated for corrosion resistance. The alloy drive pins transfer the load from the brake action while maintaining the axial and radial float between the disc rotor and hat. The pins are secured by Grade-12 cap screws with hardened washers and mounted with anti-noise spring washers to allow for heat expansion while eliminating the rattle and noise associated with floating rotors. The two-piece Girodisc design allows for disc-only replacement as well, minimizing future replacement costs and delivering outstanding performance. Sold/priced per pair.

A1-276 Girodisc Two-Piece 410mm Front Brake Rotors FITMENT: Porsche GT3 (992) w/ factory PCCB Porsche GT3RS (992) w/ factory PCCB This 410mm Girodisc conversion system is a direct front rotor replacement for the Porsche 992 GT3 and GT3RS originally equipped with PCCB brakes. These two-piece floating iron rotors with aluminum hats will bolt directly to your Porsche and work flawlessly with the OEM front calipers. You must use must use the pad shape used on the 992 GT3/GT3RS with iron rotors. The annulus (pad swept height) of these rotors is smaller than the PCCBs to keep rotor weight low and allow far better pad selection. By upgrading your brakes with lightweight, high-performance Girodisc rotors, especially when paired with Girodisc A2-154 rear rotors, your Porsche's factory brake bias and ABS efficiency are maintained. The low rotational mass and unsprung weight of Girodisc rotors allows for quick acceleration and fast transient suspension response. Most racers replace the factory PCCBs with Girodisc rotors to avoid the inevitable damage to fragile carbon-ceramic discs when swapping wheels at the track. We suggest using these rotors with these Pagid 4924 or PFC brake pad profiles normally used in the Porsche 991 GT3 without PCCB. When combined with Competition Motorsport RF1 Racing brake fluid or the New HALO P1 High Performance Brake Fluid, you'll have an extremely reliable and durable solution to cracked or broken carbon-ceramic rotors at a fraction of the cost of factory PCCBs.
