A1-291 Girodisc 2pc Front Brake Rotors for Porsche 718 GT4RS (OEM Steel) - Competition Motorsport
Girodisc A1-291 Girodisc 2pc Front Brake Rotors for Porsche 718 GT4RS (OEM Steel) $1,700.00
Girodisc A1-291 Two Piece Floating Racing Brake Rotors These Rotors Fit The Following Cars (w/ OEM Steel Rotors) Porsche 718 GT4RS (Front) The Girodisc system is a direct replacement for the OEM front discs on the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4RS with OEM iron rotors. No modifications are necessary, allowing use of unmodified factory pad shapes unlike most aftermarket solutions for this Porsche. The disc will bolt directly to the car and work with OEM calipers perfectly. By upgrading your brakes with lightweight, high performance replacements -- as opposed to a big brake kit -- your factory brake bias and ABS efficiency are preserved. The central hat section of our rotor is made from strictly USA-sourced 6061-T6 aircraft specification aluminum. The rotor is made from Girodisc's own proprietary cast iron, poured in the USA and machined from start to finish in house at Girodisc. The rotor utilizes a curved vane design, developed in racing to act as a centrifugal pump to force cooling air through the disc. The rotor and hat have a floating mount system, which utilizes 12 high strength alloy steel drive pins, manufactured by Girodisc in the USA to their own specifications and cadmium plated for long-lasting corrosion resistance. These pins take the load from braking while maintaining the axial and radial float between the hat and disc. The pins are secured by Class 12.9 cap screws with hardened washers. In order to keep the rotors from making noise when cold, the pins are mounted with anti-noise spring washers on the rotor side which allow the rotor to grow with heat expansion, eliminating the rattle and noise commonly associated with floating rotors. This float also allows the rotor to self center between the pads. Once the Girodisc system is in place, simply replace the cast iron rotor ring when needed. When used with Pagid or PFC racing brake pads and hi-temp CMS Performance RF1 racing brake fluid, you have what amounts to a truly amazing solution to overheating or warping rotors. If your car came stock with OEM center lock wheels please select the center lock drive pin option. Sold/priced in pairs.

Although designed primarily for endurance racing, many competitors use this material successfully for sprint and short distance races also. RS29 has also found favor in the growing track day market due to the level of control, good cold performance, long life and low disc wear. Pagid RSL 1: The Pagid RSL 1 has a high ceramic content with superior thermal insulation and higher heat resistance than metallic pad compounds. They feature excellent pad wear under endurance conditions, excellent rotor life, and are less aggressive than RST pads with excellent brake balance and modulation. Pagid RST 1: The Pagid RST 1 is a high average friction, aggressive pad with instant pedal response, quick release, a firm pedal at all temperatures, and a progressive torque curve. Suitable for applications with high down-force and/or very high grip. Pagid RST 3: The Pagid RST 3 is a medium-high friction metal-ceramic compound containing steel fibers and is therefore the perfect complement of the RST product family. It is exceptional in its low heat conductivity. Ideal for rally tarmac and gravel, GT cars, Touring Cars, prototype circuit racing, formula cars and club racing.
