Arai Auto Racing GP-6PED SA2015 Helmet
A driver’s favorite, the ARAI GP-6PED SA2015 helmet combines the most popular Arai features with new, improved upgrades. The ARAI GP-6PED is constructed with Arai’s own PBcLc (Peripherally Belted Complex Laminate) shell construction and the same shell shape as the Formula 1 grade GP-6RC model. New ventilation, a soft EPS liner, and a wider eye port for optimized peripheral vision are part of this new shell which gives the driver notable strength and flexibility. Replaceable cheek pads make racing comfortable for any driver, as do the three larger, closeable intake vents and two larger exhaust vents on the ventilation system.
The ARAI GP-6PED helmet is Snell SA2015 certified with factory-installed M6 washers/nuts. Drivers of any skill level can install their own Head and Neck Restraint system using a 6mm bolt. The FIA-8859-2015 certification sticker is applied to the interior liner of the helmet.
Arai GP-6PED SA2015 Helmet Features:
POSITIVE SHIELD LATCH
Simple, yet effective: The positive latch mechanism on the ARAI GP-6PED SA2015 Helmet gives the driver solid shield latching, but is seamlessly integrated into the standard shield system for ease of use.
NEW SHIELD PIVOT HARDWARE
The ARAI GP-6PED SA2015 Helmet features new shield pivot hardware with improved aerodynamics based on the updated track slider design. An increased peripheral field of view is featured on the 6 series, which surpasses the 5 series in visibility. The wider eye port, shield, and pivot hardware were all developed on the RC and adapted to the ARAI GP-6PED helmet.
The ARAI GP-6PED SA2015 Helmet offers increased peripheral field of view compared to the previous GP-5 series due to its much larger eyeport.
Increased airflow is key to the ARAI GP-6PED SA2015 Helmet’s design. This includes bigger, closeable intake vents with large 10mm holes in both front and rear. Larger rear vents also provide better airflow.
Drivers of all skill levels will appreciate the integrated, pre-installed M6 threaded washer/nut with 6mm threads which accepts a range of Head and Neck Restraint devices. A flat surface area around the mounting nut will let the anchor post base to rest flush along the surface of the helmet and around the full perimeter of the anchor base. FIA-8859-2015 certification sticker applied to the interior liner material.
The ARAI GP-6PED’s new, ergonomic chinbar and ridge at the bottom edge of the shell lowers the center of gravity and increases the structural integrity of the helmet. Additional improvements include a rise in the shell above the shoulders for increased clearance.
EJECT READY CROWN PAD
The optional Eject system can be easily accommodated via a pre-cut pocket under the helmet’s crown pad.
An effective helmet is one that fits properly. Have an assistant use a measuring tape, or a piece of string to measure the circumference of your head starting at a point approximately one inch above the eyebrows in front, around a point in the back of the head that results in the largest possible measurement, and finally wrapping back to the front. It is a good idea to take several measurements to make sure you have the largest one.
